I understand people trying to find their own music genre

What is somewhat confusing to me, is this:

Isn't music suppose to make you happy or make you cry or laugh?

I listen to most types of music, I made a thread about annoying songs.

Some music is just stupid, and makes me laugh. Do I need to enter a pit to listen to something "black" Isn't most of this actually "death metal"?

Is it politically incorrect to call it what it is?
