On the other hand, is there something more fitting with Brazilian Portuguese or some authentic history to this?
MMA = Mixed Martial Arts?
What's with all the "Mixed" or culturally displaced martial arts?
Take a couple of classes and defend yourself in a riot or street fighting situation? No, that's not going to work.
The Martial Art chosen must be a way of life -- "Live by the sword, die by the sword," as they say -- and remember to choose life rather than death.
Whatever it is, there's got to be some method or discipline to learn it correctly and do it right -- and these things are very traditional and somewhat particular to each culture or area or school -- the difficulty is on par with learning a foreign language and acting as your own attorney in court in a foreign country to defend yourself against the false accusations of the enemy.
There are certain basic principles universal to all martial arts, of course, and it's good and well to learn such things, but I really don't like the fads that come and go, or the foreign-oriented martial-arts cultural sleaze that is not true to its country of origin.
