Would you buy a "dumb" TV?

And just sayin' - you see that 75" TV for $400??? WOW!!!
They suck. They have horrible color balance, and even worse - no black capability at all.
Black is one of the most important elements in a good picture. How dark is black.
On shitty TVs - there is no black. It is more like light charcoal gray. So you have no contrast. Everything looks one dimensional.
You buy what you can afford, but if you can afford it - the 65" TV that is $1,400 - is $1,400 for a good reason.

We are concerned with the "eves hearing" possibilities of voice command service.

See, I can be a conspiracy theorist like all of MAGA and the Alt Right!
Hell, Jackson, I am concerned about that also. When it turns on that welcome screen just because I walk past the door to the library on my way to get a drink in the kitchen, in the middle of the night, I know it is spying on me. From what I hear, so is my Iphone and I am not getting rid of that either. Strange times, eh?:dunno:

It is what it is. We like our comforts.

We don't have Siri and Eve Nobelle etc.

We do not have a wired kitchen or phone.

We do not have a voice command TV.

We do have interior and exterior surveillance.

65" is good size for most rooms, even small rooms if you don't see so good. For most people paying paying $1500 to over $2000 for 4K or 8K is an overkill. Most streaming channels either don't offer this high resolution and if do it is at a higher cost. Cable systems don't offer high res. None of major networks consistently send high res to the local stations and most local stations don't broadcast in high resolution.

You can get great color, resolution, and sound for less than $1000.

At six to eight feet, anything at Wal-mart will meet your need.

Smart appliances are something we definitely have no intention of ever buying.

Doesn't have anything to do with resolution.
It is the black capability.
Our Samsung, if there is no picture, in a dark room, you can't tell it is even on. There is no "glow". It is pitch black.
In the bedroom, where we care less about the quality... the Vizeo is practically like a night light. There is no black. And the picture is remarkably less quality.
