Biologist says white-tailed deer are CARNIVORES!!!

This is certainly an odd tie-in to affirmative action.

When a woman gets a science job you can bet she got it thru special treatment. They make ok social workers and english teachers but on a job that involves thinking, they can't cut it.

Perhaps before you accuse someone else of not being able to think, you should learn to think on your own. Deer eating eggs and baby birds is a documented phenomenon. It is not some fantasy. Just because you are incapableof understanding what happened (video tapes of the actions, and other studies showing the same activity) does not make the biologist less competent. It only shows your ignorance.

The article also quotes another wildlife biologist. Funny that you didn't think he was making shit up. Your bias is obvious and your ignorance is readily apparent.

You really need to be the PR spokesman for the GOP in 2016, really, you need to do this.

.

Thank you. All decent americans are opposed to affirmative action. What's wrong with handing out jobs on merit.?

Not a thing. Luckily, the jobs given based on merit will be based on ACTUAL merit. Not on your ignorant delusions of who is intelligent.

Too many deer already, time to allow venison on supermarket shelves, and let the free market do the work. Those deer would be under control in no time at all, and be tasty too. ;)

Market hunting is what nearly wiped them out in the first place.

I am for it being sold, but only from high fenced land and not wild deer.

Surprising,I have opened up many deer, and have never seen evidence of meat eating, but most wild things are opportunistic by necessity.

You might try telling that to the men who worked with Katherine Johnson at NASA. She was a mathematician and physicist. When NASA first started using computers they would call her in to check the calculations the computers made.

But she was a woman, so she wasn't good on a job that involved thinking?

Oh, and in case you missed it, she calculated the trajectory for the Apollo 11 flight to the moon. So much for a woman not being any good at a job that requires thinking.

Oh, and since you probably won't look her up, she was a black woman.

That's what this wacko scientist claims but she's female and thus an affirmative action hire so who knows how good she really is.. Wouldn't surprise me if she's illiterate.

White-tailed deer shown to raid nests eat eggs and baby birds USGS reports NOLA.com

March 6 2015
Seeing fewer quail on your hunting lease? Maybe it's time you stop pointing the finger at coyotes, raccoons and fire ants and place the blame on your murderous herd of white-tailed deer.

Believe it or not, researchers have discovered deer will raid the happy homes of ground-nesting birds and enjoy a nice breakfast of eggs or fledglings.

Pam Pietz, a wildlife biologist at the U.S. Geological Survey's Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center in North Dakota, set up miniature video cameras that ran 24 hours a day to document the fate of grassland songbird nests, according to the USGS.

She was surprised to find deer raided as many nests as badgers, and more than weasels or red foxes.

Sounds like omnivorous behaviour to me, not carnivorous. Humans are omnivores too. We can digest and process meat and plants. Just like deer. But we don't do better with meat than plants as a carnivore like house cats do.
