In a Republic, actually
“That the order, breathtaking in scope and inflammatory in tone, was issued on Holocaust Remembrance Day spoke of the president’s callousness and indifference to history, to America’s deepest lessons about its own values.

The order lacks any logic. It invokes the attacks of Sept. 11 as a rationale, while exempting the countries of origin of all the hijackers who carried out that plot and also, perhaps not coincidentally, several countries where the Trump family does business. The document does not explicitly mention any religion, yet it sets a blatantly unconstitutional standard by excluding Muslims while giving government officials the discretion to admit people of other faiths.

The order’s language makes clear that the xenophobia and Islamophobia that permeated Mr. Trump’s campaign are to stain his presidency as well. Un-American as they are, they are now American policy.”

Indeed, the order is irrational – devoid of worth and merit; it is yet another manifestation of the ignorance, fear, and hate common to most on the right.

So our government needs to schedule its business day around an event which took place half-way around the world? ....

You contradict yourself. How can it be a Muslim ban when Muslims from other majority Muslim nations are not effected by it any more than Christians or Jews?

Another nutter duped by Democrat Fake News. There is no 'Muslim Ban.' Trump has placed limits on Immigration from certain very dangerous nations. The #1 priority has to be protecting Americans. The Democrats are gonna regret fighting this at some point. Most Americans are proud of Trump for looking out for them. Only fringe Democrat nuts oppose this reasonable logical action.

I was wondering the same , mister 'silly fallacy' guy is back . He is up and running working against the Trump for 2020 Sassy !!

The only way Liberals can argue is to lie and change the facts. How sad for them. It's not a muslim ban. But we've been through this. The OP is just miserable and butt hurt.

Only fringe Democrat haters oppose this wise common sense action. Most Americans support Trump in looking out for them this way.

We can assume you do not have the welfare of US citizens on your mind. YOu want us to turn into Germany?

hey 'jonesey; there is a poll going on about this subject and you muslims are losing badly . You might wanna check it out and add your vote .

How many lying OP's can we have in one day? It's not a Muslim ban if Trump didn't ban all predominantly Muslim nations.

THIS is why his order will prevail in court.

This is the biggest victory for civilization that this decade has seen.

Of course a leftist would be furious. They are vehemently anti-civilization. That's why they want to import bunch of people from the hell holes of earth - to vote for their party.

Haha, you misunderstand the meaning. It's not that the gov't of the U.S. can't conduct business on that day, nor is it a national holiday. It's the irony of establishing a ban on a religious group (although I agree with the ban), on a day when people in the world say "Never Again" to the bigotry and prejudice that produced the Holocaust.

C'mon man. You don't want to start off your return to USMB with the deliberately deceptive "Muslim Ban" narrative. You know darn well this is a temporary ban not a permanent ban based on hatred or bigotry.
