Apparently, you haven't been paying attention to the news coming in from India. The numbers of new cases is staggering and the numbers of deaths, appalling. I listen to a couple of news channels from India and the news isn't good there.
Because of the huge numbers of cases and new cases, banning travel from India is a prudent move. If the situation was the same coming in from say, Norway or, Russia, a ban of those wanting to come in from those nations would be advisable.
