DENTON — When Texas college students return to their campuses after the winter break, they’ll discover the lights are still off in their campuses’ diversity offices.
That’s because a new law that outlaws such work at the state’s higher education institutions goes into effect, Jan. 1.
Dissolving diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at public universities: Senate Bill 17 requires public universities to end so-called diversity, equity and inclusion work. Universities will also be unable to offer training on diversity and inclusion for its faculty and staff, or require diversity statements in hiring processes. Universities must also confirm to the Legislature between legislative sessions that they are in full compliance.

Comment:
The irony of the DEI office is that it is not diverse, it does not include everyone in civil rights, and it treats people unequally based upon their race.
Race based laws, policies and regulations are unconstitutional.
The Left breaks all of their own philosophies all of the time.
There will be a backlash on this from the radical and racist Democrats.

It is time to throw diversity under the bus and reward excellence.

Exactly.

If you get a college program it should be based on who has the best grades, most impressive academics and the most ambition. College programs should always be for the best and brightest.

Just like employment should be for someone with work experience, knowledge, intelligence, ambition, work ethic and personally would be the best fit.

America needs to wake up and start being truly equal and that means ignoring skin color, sex, sexual orientation and so on. Educate and hire the best person for the job. And if it happens to be almost all Asians and whites? Then so be it.

I want the best people to be the ones doing things. Not the best skin color or sexual orientation.
