So the Afghan Army, who just skipped town and quit 2 weeks ago, left all of the equipment and ammo we gave them, for the Taliban? And you expected the USA to go around to the afghan army bases and areas to destroy it, with just 2500 military in the whole country, and gather it all up or blow it all up, in the midst of this evacuee crisis, before all Americans are out?

I think once we get everyone evacuated out of the country, we will blow it up in strategic strikes.... at least the big stuff, which via satellite we can track.... Taliban doesn't know how to use most of the stuff, but they could sell it off, for the money to fund them selves...perhaps?

Just think not just of the cost of all this stuff (I understand about 28 Billion), but the cost and logistics of storing, loading, unloading and transporting all that gear clear around the world, just to give it away, then have those you gave it to LOSE IT ALL in the first week they are put into operation!

Wow, there's a lot of disingenous information in this graphic.

Let's start with the obvious ones. Biden didn't turn these over to the Taliban, the Taliban gained them when the Afghan Army we trained and armed for the last 20 years just gave up.

Secondly, one of the things on the graphic is MI-17 helicopters. These are Helicopters that are left over from the Communist government of 1978-92. Not sure how these are Biden's fault, exactly.

Wow, they captured HUMMV's. A vehicle our started phasing out a decade ago when they found out they were kind of useless in protecting soldiers inside of them from from IED's. .Heck, a HUMMV was cutting edge- 35 years ago when I was in the service.... today, not so much.

Most of this equipment is probably not servicable, and if it is, it won't be for long because of lack of repair parts or expertise.

Uh, no, man, the Afghan Military gave it to them.

Our whole premise on fighting this war from the beginning was to rely on tribal warlords to do the fighting for us if we gave them weapons.

That was a bad idea from the start, because a lot of these guys supported the Taliban before we invaded and went right back to them after we made it clear we were going to leave.

But it beat the alternative, which would have meant drafting young Americans and making rich people pay for the war until it was over.
