When anti-gunners lie about the AR-15 rifle, or just get it completely wrong..

This weapon was designed for a battlefield and has no business on America's streets.

Full stop.
So was a Brown Bess Musket though many were also used as shotguns on the frontier after their military service.

Military rifles were converted in their hundreds of thousands (or used as is) for civilian use after they were surplused off.

My dad's first deer rifle was a unmolested M1917 US Enfield in .30-06.

None of those weapons had the destructive capability of the AR-15.

I'm less worried about them being used to kill deer and more worried when they get used on preschoolers.

in a 30 year period, less than 500 people have been killed by an AR-15.

In that same time period, over 1,000 have been killed by baseball bats.

when are you going to try banning baseball bats?

(knives have killed even more.)

I never heard of a mass slaughter being carried out with a baseball bat.

I have heard of Sandy Hook, Aurora, Stoneman High School, etc.

LOL....How about an M1 Garand or even a SKS or a M1 Carbine?

I can tell you know shit-all.

Yes they did they were 58 caliber while the civilian version of the AR is 223. The number is the decimal measure of an inch.

How is it hype.

If Adam Lanza had gone into Sandy Hook with a baseball bat, he wouldn't have been able to kill 26 people.

He'd have probably been overpowered before he killed 1.
What kind of gun did Timothy McVeigh use to kill 150 people? The Boston marathon bombers used a pressure cooker. The simplest way to kill is by a car or truck. The problem is the killer not their method. Killers run free because of democrat policies

I once lied about an AR 15. I told the guy at the counter that it was just a friend. Truth is, we were dating but I was embarrassed.

how is it not?

AR-15 bad, looks scary

ball bat, tool used in Americas favorite sport.

AR-15 kills, maybe, 150 in a years' time tops.

handguns kill 30,000 plus.

but lets ban scary looking AR-15.

because hype.

The Brown Bess was .71 caliber smooth bore.... .58 was more common in CW era rifled muskets though .69 caliber smoothbore M1842 Springfields were used early in the conflict in numbers till they could be issued rifled muskets as the conflict spun-up.

Most ARs are now made in 5.56. I still have some older examples in .223 but they can still use 5.56 with 55 grain bullets. The barrel's twist rate will determine accuracy with heavier bullets.

Now you have ARs chambered in .223 Wylde.

Not to mention the many non-standard chamberings like 300 BO.

A truly versatile platform in common use.

I was just making the point that the ball used in muskets was large and can make big hoe in a person. I dint want to get involved in ballistics because like most anti gun fanatics he has no idea. When I took my range safety officers test I had to unjam and shoot a Daniel Defense AR. It was just perfect a pleasure to shoot

The 2nd Amendment is designed to ensure the American public have access to the same weapons as the government that would try and oppress them.
