Biden to sign order expanding voting rights on Bloody Sunday anniversary

“The only legitimate vote is a ballot cast in person.”

“If you’re too lazy or disinclined to vote in person, you shouldn’t be allowed to vote at all.”

“Voting requires effort and sacrifice – that you must work on election day doesn’t justify early voting, multiple polling venues, or voting by mail.”

This is the sort of idiotic, wrongheaded sophistry we hear from the right, where conservatives believe voting is a ‘privilege,’ not a right.

It is not a right if it means nothing. Can you get that through your head?

Why are republicans so scared of people voting begs the other question....why do they love guns so much. Scared little rabbits who would probably poop their pants if they actually had to use their guns. Any way a link to our very undemocratic voting practices in USA.

Democrats had better use their majority in both houses to secure the right to vote for all Americans, because Republicans are very busy trying to disenfranchise millions of voters.
Disenfranchising illegal votes is a good thing.
Votes can't be enfranchised. People can. You mean Enfranchising eligible voters is a good thing. Indeed! Regardless of wealth or belief.

Dems' new slogan should be "No voter left behind":thewave:; very interesting, only voter registration, not the voting booth

"....
Offering voter registration opportunities at agencies could boost registration rates among populations where it currently lags. Voter registration at the Indian Health Service, for example, could affect more than 1.9 million Native Americans and Alaska Natives, according to an estimate from the Brennan Center for Justice.
Offering registration at the Veterans Association could reach almost 20 million voters and doing the same at immigration offices could affect more than 760,000 each year.
Another provision in the order requires the Department of Justice to provide people in federal custody – including those on probation – with voter registration information and “to the extent practicable and appropriate” to facilitate voting by mail.
States have widely different policies on when people with a felony conviction can vote and navigating such rules can be extremely difficult for people once they are released from prison.

Having worked in a govt. setting surrounded by leftists, they threw links for registration on all or most web pages.

If a person is too tarded to figure out how to register, science dictates we're all better off if these people don't vote.

Same for instant voting on another level. If you're too tarded & lazy to attend a voting booth & flash credentials that you're you, with weeks to do so, then science dictates we're all better off these people don't vote.

But if you're PROG, which is essentially tarded, you want to expand voting to everyone possible, knowing full well the more lazy you are, the more irresponsible, the more needy, the less you speak English, the more crime you've committed and the greater target you are to simple-minded propaganda, then the more likely you are to vote Demonicrat.

I can't agree with Biden more on this.

Closing voting places, only putting one or two voting machines in voting places, moving voting places to areas people can't get to, purging legal voters from the voting rolls, reducing the days to vote and not allowing voting on Sundays and so much more is only meant to suppress the vote in certain areas.

None of those things does anything to stop illegal voting.

Requiring an ID is fine of it's easy to obtain and is free. The problem is that the state makes it difficult to obtain and it's not free. If the state is going to require ID to vote then the state better make it free.

Anything beyond requiring proof of qualifying to vote is nothing but voter suppression.

I hope that we can get as many legal voters to the polls as possible. Democracy doesn't work if people don't vote.

It’s unfortunate such an order is necessary.

But conservatives are determined to suppress the right to vote and disenfranchise minority voters.

Conservatives’ unwarranted hostility to the right to vote is understandable – when voter turnout is high, Republican candidates tend to lose.

Suppressing the right to vote and disenfranchising minority voters is the only way Republicans can reinstate and maintain their minority rule.

The leftists disenfranchised tens of thousands legal voters in 2020. That is a fact.

Making voting easier for people who are too dumb or too lazy to get an ID will only benefit democrats.

Meanwhile, this ties in with that.

If Biden can issue an EO, then the Texas National Guard needs to seal their border

It won't matter. Nancy and company will tell Racial Jungle *Joe sue Texas just like the Obamunist sued Arizona. They'll find some leftist wacko judge to pull the NG because of racism n stuff.

Democrats had better use their majority in both houses to secure the right to vote for all Americans, because Republicans are very busy trying to disenfranchise millions of voters.
If Nancy's bill passes the leftists will be disenfranchising millions of legal voters. That is a fact.

Nobody needs enfranchised you leftist twit.

What does it mean difficult to obtain? If I want to vote in an upcoming elections and want to get an ID, what am I required to do? And how much will it cost?

Most states will give a free or at most a few $$$ ID to poor people.

You need ID to buy alcohol, enter federal buildings, to fly, etc., etc., etc.
So, what is the problem? It is quite logical to demand IDs or other documents which help identify a voter at the polling station.

What I find interesting, and very telling, is that Xiden said that 43 States, have passed legislation or are working on legislation that in his view, make it harder to vote, in reality they are mainly putting things back to normal, prior to Covid, yet he says his Admin will not let them succeed. So the Biden admin is essentially at war, with 43 States....let that sink in, this isn't one, or two, or even ten states....it's the overwhelming majority of the States that make up our Union.

I have no real issues, with the EO, and the President directing his Admin to educate the public on how to vote, how to register etc....but those comments are very telling, and frankly frightful that the Biden Admin has decided to go to war with 43 States

Disenfranchising illegal votes is a good thing.
Ummm? What is the point you are trying to make? "Illegal votes"....are not now 'franchised' Duh! The comment is silly snark.

Makes no difference WHO it makes easier to vote. Voting is not only a right, it is a necessity if America is to meet the expectations of it's founding, the Constitution, and the now 240+years of cultural imperative. A free vote is one of the defining characteristics of our America. And it must be easily available to the dumb, the smart, the lazy, and the ambitious. And all in between who qualify.

Does the Executive Order say anything about Voter ID?
Yes, it does.

Why are Dems now against providing ID?
To the best of my knowledge, they are not. What is the back-story on your query?

Anything that makes it easier for the stupid and uninformed to vote is a boon to democrats. That's your party's core constituency.
Asked and answered. And too, the posters remark about 'core constituency' signal that there is no sincerity or good will towards making America better via it's defining free vote. It is just puerile snark. No offense intended.

Here is a brief outline of the intent of the EO signed by Biden.
Of course, the devil is always in the details. And those details will get crafted, hammered, sifted, and sorted.....with the intent to make things better. That is, the sincere and well-meaning intent. There will be those, there always are so we need not flutter our pearls too much about them, but there will be those who do not come to the table with sincerity or good will. But rather the motives to ONLY ensure a disproportionate share of power is gained, or remains just with them.

It is what it is. We persevere despite those types.

Direct federal agencies to expand access to voter registration and election information. The executive order will direct the head of each federal agency to submit to the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy a strategic plan outlining ways their agency can promote voter registration and participation within 200 days. These strategic plans could include actions such as:

  • Leveraging agencies’ existing websites and social media to provide information about how to register to vote
  • Distributing voter registration and vote-by-mail ballot applications in the course of regular services
  • Considering whether any identity documents issued by the agency can be issued in a form that satisfies state voter identification laws

  • Direct federal agencies to assist states under the National Voter Registration Act.
  • Increase federal employees’ access to voting.
  • Analyze barriers to voting for people with disabilities. T
  • Increase voting access for active duty military and other overseas voters.
  • Provide voting access and education to citizens in federal custody.
  • Establish a Native American voting rights steering group.

Because they were for voter ID before....and now they are not

Just a few examples of a national effort by the DNC to sue and fight over voter ID laws

Joe acts like a guy that knows he didn't win legitimately...want's to stack the deck for 24....

Nope.. The higher morality is to make it easier for all US citizens to vote whether they are Democrat or Republican.

I mean if you talk to people like this in real life, especially women, they'd never come anywhere near you.

Why? Do women get uncomfortable when Democrat voter fraud is mentioned?
I've never noticed that here, in the heart of Democrat voter fraud.

Don't lies make you uncomfortable? Every state as certified their election and yet Trump and his groupies still claim he won by a landslide.
