"With the Dakota Access pipeline’s permit under reconsideration and the Keystone XL pipeline canceled, Line 3 is a last gasp at keeping the filthy tar sands industry alive. About 20 miles from where the pump station protesters would ultimately be unchained and arrested, nearly 2,000 more demonstrators had another reason to stop Line 3: What the local Ojibwe, Anishinaabe and Chippewa call Misi-Ziibi. If Enbridge has its way, Line 3 will bore under the Mississippi River twice as it flows north and then loops south from its source, Lake Itasca.

As for any leaks and spills — Enbridge is responsible for more than 1,000 between 1996 and 2014 — [more leaks and spills] could poison the Mississippi and more. Line 3 will cross 211 other rivers and streams, and threaten scores of lakes and wetlands in Minnesota’s choicest wild rice harvesting region, granted to Indian tribes by 19th century treaties."

Biden is spot on here.....and if these protesters want to start some trouble, the police should come in and crack heads....Tar sands is the wave of the future; yea it may be more toxic and release 3 times the amount of pollution; but the benefits and profits outweigh all of that...Yea, this particular pipeline may benefit a Canadian company but the trickle down benefits we get from it makes it worth it...

So just because a bunch of tree-huggers and redskins are complaining; this Canadian company is supposed to care? -- All of this whining about sacred land crap...what is more sacred than profit? Who cares about some goofy old treaties from 100 years ago....Libs are always stuck in the past and using it to block progress in the present. Injuns always crying about preserving their culture and tribal lands to try to stand in the way of industry -- if your culture and land was so special; you wouldn't have lost it...get over it...leave the history to the winners, not the losers...

Maybe you should tell your readers WHO big oil actually is.

So when will Joe Biden be found dead in bed with a pillow over his head as he is declared to have died from "natural causes"?
