Biden RAISES Social Security Payments On Way Out

would increase monthly benefits in December 2025 by an average of $700
so your saying retirees are going to get a 700 dollar raise?...
One of the guys here that retired, who worked in the private sector before the Post Office, was just shy half a dozen social security quarters to qualify for SS retirement. So he's working to qualify for social security. And even then, because of the government pension offset, his benefits from SS security were severely cut. But were enough to cover medicare part B.

ok so you did not answer my question.....you said they will be getting $700.00 dollar a month raise...do want to correct that?...

Are they not losing the pensions

So they are getting benefits for both even they only paid into one
You only get what you paid for.

To qualify for Social Security retirement benefits, you must be at least 62 years old and have worked and paid Social Security taxes for a minimum of 10 years, which equates to earning at least 40 Social Security credits throughout your working life; the amount of your benefit is based on your lifetime earnings,

He wasnt penalized

He collected SS based on what he paid into SS

No, his SS was reduced because of what he got from the government retirement system.

Public Law 98-21, Social Security Amendments of
1983, approved April 20, 1983.

How much will my Social Security benefits
be reduced?

We’ll reduce your Social Security benefits by twothirds
of your government pension. For example, if
you get a monthly civil service pension of $3,000,
two-thirds of that, or $2,000, must be deducted from
your Social Security benefits.

How is it double dipping? They paid social security taxes on these earnings used to calculate
their benefit.
They did not pay SS tax on earnings that went to the pension

They did not pay SS tax on earnings that went to the pension
True. And Social Security does not use those earnings to calculate their benefit. Not now. Not ever.

The only thing that changes is that these people now get their full earned social security benefit, not the cut down version from the WEP.

Trump had already suggested ending taxation on SS benefits and he vowed to find ways to keep politician's grubby fingers out of the SS coffers.

Biden's overall legacy is so tainted with corruption and crime that his last ditch effort to save face is too little - too late.

How to tell us you're a complete idiot without saying the words.

NOT A SINGLE MEMBER OF THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION WAS SO MUCH AS CHARGED WITH A CRIME. REPUBLICANS KEEP MAKING FALSE CLAIMS THAT DEMOCRATS ARE COMMITTING CRIMES, BUT SO FAR NO EVIDENCE, NO WITNESSES AND NOT A SINGLE CHARGE.

TRUMP'S DOJ PROSECUTED HIS OWN ADVISORS AND SENT THEM TO JAIL - ALL WERE GUILTY.

SS bases benefits on how much the retiree paid in

the guv workers paid into their pension fund instead of SS

They dont deserve extra benifits

As far as teachers, they pay into their pension and they pay SS taxes. When they collect their pension, they then only pay fed and state taxes as they already had paid SS taxes on it

It seems you’re under the impression that government workers can’t ever work for private companies ever in their lives.

But you see, sometimes people work for the government for some years and pay into a pension and then they work for private companies for other years, paying into social security.

That’s who we are talking about.

Is that too difficult for you to understand?

He gave SS to government hacks who never paid a penny into the system.
