Zone1 Bible Reading Plans 2025

James taught Faith without works is dead. Did you know this? Others taught this as well in both OT and NT. It is your religion that is false.

Joe Smith taught don't drink coffee or tea, but gallons of soda is fine.

Really.

Really.
What soda was around between 1820 and 1844? And, it wasn’t Joseph Smith that. He inquired of the Lord and the Lord gave words of wisdom concerning our intake of foods, drinks and other things like tobacco. It was not originally a commandment. As time went on and the Temple became more and more for sacred ordinances, the Lord had the Prophets make it a commandment and required to follow to enter the House of the Lord, the Temple.
As to the topic, those who follow the Word of Wisdom and all commandments live longer, healthier and happier lives. Put the faith to works like keeping the commandments and you come to the knowledge of God.

Does anyone adhere to a Bible Reading Plan?

I have for many years now; it keeps me disciplined. I started out reading the Bible in the year--this one is not for slackers. I did this both through the Bible--Genesis to Revelation--and chronologically.

That was a lot. So one year I did a reading that took you through the NT, plus a Psalms and Proverbs.

Then I read the Bible in two years. Then I did a combination prayer study/Bible reading.

Last year I powered down a bit and just read the NT in a year. Nice and easy; one chapter a day for five days a week. In 2025/2026, I plan to read the Bible in two years again.

Lots of great plans here if you're interested:

I'm not knocking what you are doing. I think it's great, but how much time do you spend talking to God every day? Or more importantly... listening to God every day? And how do those conversations go? Is it like talking to a best friend or a spouse? Or is it something more formal? Reading the bible is great but you have to be guided by the Holy Spirit to really get the value from it and not be afraid of going against convention. At least that's my opinion.

The primary way of hearing God's voice is through Scripture, His revealed word. I wouldn't expect to pray to the God of the Universe like I talk to a bestie. He's holy. They are not. ??

I believe it is important to engage in both. When you communicate beyond scripture it maintains a semblance of accountability. I will sometimes say a little prayer when walking, shoveling the snow,.whatever. Actions are important but so is humbly commuicating to G-d our desire to be guided, protected, to maintain our humanity,.to apologize for.our weaknesses when we fail to be the person we should be. I say the Jewish shema prayer multiple times a days also which helps reinforce my belief in G-d.

The bible exists for a good reason, even if many don't really know how to read it, enough do to make it worth study and discussion and it provides guidance even for lay people so people don't need to keep re-inventing the wheel over and over again re human nature and social interactions. Take advantage of the wisdom of its writers and their inspiration.

I disagree. The primary way of hearing God is through prayer which should incorporate a healthy dose of listening.

I believe having conversations with God like you do with a bestie is a great way of building a relationship with God. The Trinity is a relationship, one to be entered into just like you do with a close and trusted friend or a close family member.

Yes, I agree. Both are important. The relationship helps me understand scripture better.
