Good question... As a Democrat I worked hard starting at $0.75/hr.
when I retired as a Republican nearly 50 years later, I was making a comfortable six figure salary per year.

I submit! I think the lowest wage in America should be $150,000. So if you work at McDonalds, you make $150,000 per year and then your pay goes up from there depending on your job.
