The Times reports, "Multiple people were shot and four people, including the gunman, were killed on Wednesday afternoon at a medical building in Tulsa, Okla., the Tulsa police said. That is political gibberish so typical of McConnell. He is the master at talking, but saying nothing. Clearly, his primary concern is the Second Amendment and "the right to keep and bear arms in this country,” not the 19 kids and two teacher who were murdered at an elementary school.
another total moron speaksWow, did you guys see that?
May 25 Texas shooting news
At least 19 children and two adults were killed in a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Follow here for the latest.www.cnn.com
How would a background check or waiting period have prevented the school shooting in Uvalde, TX?Well we certainly can't have background checks or waiting periods .... I mean.... Buy more Guns, TExas.
He is the Democrat nominee for this fall's election! Catch a clue!Wasn't O'Dork planning on running again for governor? So much for that.
Be honest! The only reason you like Beto is that he is a rump ranger just like you! This is what courage looks like, instead of what those spineless creeps on stage are demonstrating.
There are no "assault weapons" on our streets, dumbass! If you can’t say unequivocally that we shouldn’t have weapons of war - assault weapons - on our streets then what the hell are you even running for?
Grow a spine or get out of the game. We don’t need any more cowardice from our “leaders”.
When did he do that?Abbott patted himself on the back as he removed all restrictions on gun purchases, training and background checks
He boasted it would keep Texas safe
Let him answer for his actions
Let him face those parents and tell them how safe their children are
Which island is that?I said "politicians" that includes BOTH sides of the isle with a few exceptions. Tell us one thing this clown Beto has accomplished of note while mooching off taxpayers?
Background checks that Ramos passed?OK
Background checks
Red Flag laws
Banning assault rifles
Banning large capacity magazines
Banning body armor
ALL blocked by Republicans
Head shots work!Against a monster wearing body armor and carrying an AR 15 with a 30 round magazine?
DUH!
Okay English major, come into my fields (plural) you will be an intern.Which island is that?
Background checks that Ramos passed?
Red flag laws that would not have prevented his buying a gun?
Banning rifles that Ramos didn't use?
Banning large capacity magazines that Ramos didn't use?
Banning body armor like Ramos has not been confirmed to be wearing?
Logic says you are full of shit.Your logic is that just because you can’t stop every shooting, you should not try to stop any
Logic says the best way to stop gun killings is to ban handguns. They are our biggest killers
Logic says the best way to stop mass killings is to ban Assault Rifles, large capacity magazines and body armor
But they are sacred cows and can’t be be touched
So we need to control what we have a chance of passing. Background checks and Red Flags
When facts are compelling then the fiction of feelings will rule.Logic says you are full of shit.
Assault Rifles
Since 8/20/1982 there have been 22 mass shootings involving “assault rifles,” resulting in 285 deaths. 41% of those incidents occurred in 2015 (5) and 2016 (4). Five of those nine incidents involved targeted acts of terrorism or targeting police officers following Black Lives Matter protests. 94 of the 285 deaths occurred in those nine incidents, with 76 of them associated to the five targeted terrorist or police officer events.
The NRA, in 2013, estimated there were about five million AR-15’s owned by Americans. Politifact.com estimates that there are between six million and ten million AR-15 style “assault rifles” in America. Using the low estimate from Politifact.com, that means that only 1 in every 272,727 “assault rifles” was used in a mass shooting by only 23 people.
The chance of being killed in a mass shooting with an “assault rifle” is 1 in 1,122,807, the equivalent of someone randomly shooting into San Jose, CA and killing one specific person.
Facts about mass shootings and "assault rifles"
Media coverage of mass shootings involving "assault rifles" and a sense "we have to do something" often leads to efforts that have little, if anything, to do with solving the problem. Before acting, it is important that facts are examined to identify the problem and possible solutions.www.justthinkitthrough.com
We Have Been Invaded From WithinYou misquoted the 2A, and you clearly need an English lesson.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The word "being" is a form of "is."
Let's recast the sentence without all the "glue" words:
Because a well regulated militia is necessary for a free State's security, _____ ** shall not infringe on the people's right to keep and bear arms.
...the States and the United States will need to call up a militia of citizens to defend each state and the United States, so the people need to be armed.
**(understood/inferred by context to be the Federal Government, but lacking specificity, could also mean ANY government)
ALSO, George Mason (founder) commented on this very topic"
(The American Colonies were) "all democratic governments, where the power is in the hands of the people and where there is not the least difficulty or jealousy about putting arms into the hands of every man in the country. (European countries should not) be ignorant of the strength and the force of such a form of government and how strenuously and almost wonderfully people living under one have sometimes exerted themselves in defense of their rights and liberties and how fatally it has ended with many a man and many a state who have entered into quarrels, wars and contests with them." (George Mason, "Remarks on Annual Elections for the Fairfax Independent Company" in The Papers of George Mason, 1725-1792, ed Robert A. Rutland [Chapel Hill, 1970])
