1) No one - myself included - would have believed he could have gotten this far. What this nomination comes down to is one demographic: African Americans. Had the nomination process ended with the South rather than began, Bernie would be in the lead right now.

2) it's a shame he won't beat Hillary because he beats ANY republican in hypothetical match ups. He beats Trump by 10+ points in most polls.

3) His campaign has not been supported by any Super PAC funding yet he has raised more money than ANY republican.

4) He is the only candidate in this race with a favorability rating. Christ just compare his numbers to Trump's.

The question you need to ask yourself is how much of Bernies support is real and how much of it is simply a protest vote because the left does not really care for Hillary. Based on what we have seen so far black voters have not come out for Bernie in the primaries so it seems highly unlikely they would in a general election either which would hurt him in the South finally a big part of Sanders support is the youth vote which is notorious for not turning out in general elections.
