Bernie: Congratulations to New Mexico for becoming the first state in the nation to make all of its public colleges and universities tuition free

New Mexico just signed tuition free college into law, one of the poorest states in the nation, why can't everyone else do this?

You'd figure that Ohio State, LSU, Florida State, etc... make so much money on football alone that those states could provide free tuition. Instead tuition, fees, costs, etc... just continue to rise.

Ok, who is going to pay for this then?

And what's the quality of the education you're going to get in a free school?

Their ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

If you are getting something for free somebody else is paying for it.

Athletic revenue is separate from other revenue and it goes right back into spending on athletics especially women's sports and other money losing sports.

So Ohio State doesn't make a dime off of the football team? Sort of makes you wonder why they have one.

"Free" college is a transfer of wealth from those who have the least to those who have more.

What they make they spend it. They field 36 varsity teams. Purdue, in the same conference, has 18 varsity teams.

/----/ WOWZA - how did they get all of the professors, staff, and utilities to provide their services for free? Do they still have to pay for books and meals? If so, that is so mean.

Here's how they're paying for it FOR NOW:

"Building on earlier tuition assistance programs, the measure allocates $75 million during the 2023 fiscal year, of which $63 million comes from pandemic relief funds. Beyond its first year, legislators will need to draw funds from other sources to keep the program going."

Colleges are overpriced thanks to greedy lib educator overspending

if New Mexico does not include wage and price controls on the flaky educators this gesture will backfire
