Pedophile:

Pederasty:
sexual activity involving a man and a boy

Child molestation
is a crime involving a range of indecent or sexual activities between an adult and a child, usually under the age of 14

So pedophiles are anyone- almost always men- who are sexually attracted to children. Pederasts are men who rape boys. Child molesters are men who rape children- boys, girls or both.

The Baptist minister who molested these children was openly heterosexual- with a wife and two children. Jerry Sandusky was openly heterosexual with a wife and a child.

The Boy Scouts had a policy of not hiring openly gay scout masters- and STILL had a history of child molestation by scout masters- scout masters who were not 'overtly homosexual'.

Here is why this concept of promoting the idea that 'overtly homosexual' men are a danger to boys is dangerous to all children.

First of all- most of the child molestation victims are girls- molested by men. This minister molested boys- but it could have been girls- children are most often sexually assaulted by trusted family members, family friends- OR men in positions of trust- ministers/priests/church youth leaders/scout leaders/teachers/coaches. Focusing on homosexuals because they are homosexuals does nothing to protect the majority of child sexual molestation victims but instead diverts attention from those who are most likely to offend.
