Banning Students?

People that are not in the country legally should not be eligible for access to public education resources that are for legal residents. Allowing children that are here illegally into the educational system is an incentive for more people to come to America illegally. The Supreme Court got this wrong and it should be revisited and overturned.
^^^ That's why.

You have to file a lawsuit and then appeal it to have it revisited. Do you have the money?

A state recently tried this again and it was shot down at the first level.
I don't have the money and I don't have "standing" anyway. That said, for it to be overturned a state would have to appeal it up to the Supreme Court. This is not an easy process and it would mean failing at the lower levels.

What would you have done with those students if you want to keep them out of school?

You do realize the Supreme Court could simply refuse to review it and let the lower court rulings based on SCOTUS precedent stand. That is how it usually works. Then you have wasted years and millions of dollars on a failed mission.

And in the meantime?
Mixed messages such as allowing illegal immigrant children access to our public education system and not enforcing our immigration laws is why we have millions, perhaps 10's of millions of illegal immigrants in America now. If people are here illegally, then they should be ineligible for government benefits, one of which is access to our public education systems. However, since we have been allowing illegal immigrants access for many years, perhaps there should be some sort of transition plan. Illegal immigrants can be given 1 year to self deport before loosing access to our public schools.

Perhaps I am wrong, but I suspect rates of illegal immigration to America would have been much less if the illegal immigrants knew that there would be no place for their children in America's public school systems.

You want huge gangs roving the streets and murdering Americans?

All the more reason to deport them. If people are not here legally, then they should not be entitled to government benefits by being here. That is pretty common sense. If we want to have open borders, then we should change our immigration laws and make it so. This half ass enforcement of immigration law is what created the problem we are in now.

Better tighten up that loose access to our public schools. You wouldn't want to lose it!

You seem to think that you can snap your fingers and magically deport millions and millions and millions of people, especially those who will likely have more complex cases to adjudicate,. In the meantime, which could be years, what do you suggest to be done with all of the students you would like to just kick out of school tomorrow?

Tomorrow? In an earlier post I suggested a transition period. Perhaps one year. The length of the transition can be worked out. That said it's a mixed message to tell people to come here legally, but if you come here illegally you get free day care/education for your kids which includes free breakfast and lunch no questions asked. A major reason that illegal immigration a problem is because of this mixed message. We are rewarding people for breaking our immigration laws.

Do you believe that we should continue the policy of educating illegal immigrant children forever?

The alternative is not a pleasant experience as Unkatore has suggested. You want gangs of migrant skids prowling your neighborhood at all hours because they can't go to school?

That will make the gangs of migrant "skids" easier to deport.

You and Unkatore seem to want to roll out the welcome mat for illegals. If they are here illegally, then no government benefits. That said, since tens of millions of illegals are already here and probably millions of kids here illegally are in currently in our public schools, there would need to be a transition period if this were to change. Also, I am under no disillusion that the SCOTUS ruling will be changed by either a new ruling or legislation anytime soon. However, the tide has shifted with American's acceptance of illegal immigration, so someday the political will to make the change will come about.

You have to catch them first after they have busted up your car, broken into your house, beat up or raped your kids? That's OK with you?

I am not rolling out the mat. SCOTUS did many years ago. Take it up with them. I am telling you how it is. Don't like facts, oh well!

So, by your statement, we basically agree.
