In reply to your question, I will answer you with another question that your answer your question. "Why should you pay the price for something another person did"? It was not your fault, so why should you pay for it?

The Great Recession wasn't any of the faults of the people I work with either. Why did they deserve to get furloughed for two weeks without pay? If you choose to work for the government then you know you work there in accordance with the whims of each new administration that passes through. That's why department directors and bureau heads turnover almost every time a new president comes into office.

Again, please explain to me why government workers are so much more special and privileged than the rest of us? Remember a couple of months back during DOGE when a bunch of federal workers at USAID were let go and there was big serenade for them as they walked out of the building with their boxes of personal items and it was all over the media? Name me one time the media has ever done that for private sector workers when hundreds or thousands get let go, which happens all the time.

Mind you, this is the Federal government and it has to survive because if it doesn't, then the nation is fried.

As such and for the benefit of the nation (and its citizens), you can force them to pay for your mistakes. They had absolutely nothing to do with top brass bad judgement!

It has everything to do with it. The politicians who run our country are elected. If they fail to do their job that's the fault the whole of the people who put them there. Democrats have to be clear, this is federal workers as hostages in a negotiation... HE is clearly saying that if he doesn't get his way he is going to hurt them.

Schumer and the Democrats are holding the government hostage to extort concessions that SHOULD be determined at the BALLOT BOX.

That doesn't change the fact that they aren't working. Why do people deserve to get paid for not working simply because they are a government employee? Several years back during the Great Recession the company I work for had every employee above a certain salary grade take an extra two weeks of unpaid vacation in order to stave off layoffs. These people were furloughed for two weeks and didn't get paid for it. Why are government employees so deserving of sympathy and extra special considerations that the rest of us don't get?

That's what I said. Nothing special about being a government employee. Hell, they have wonderful benefits and retirement.
I don't think it would hurt for them to get a little taste of how the other 90% of Americans live for a couple of weeks.
