Mosquitos are Ferocious this Year!!

I live in the deep, deep south. On weekends I like to dick around on my property. There is always yardwork to do, brush to cut, trees to trim and cut down, and so forth. I have always had a ton of mosquitos out here. For the most part, they are tiny. Their bites itch intermittently for a couple days and that is it. But this year I have been getting bit by some downright bull mosquitos. The bites swell up all big and they itch like hell for a week or more. I relented and went to the drug store for some help, but nothing really helps but putting on long-sleeves and lots of Off before I go outside. At times the itch is all-consuming. Sure, I have had bad bites before, but I do not remember having so many big bites at one time. I had 6 on my right elbow this week: 2 big MF-ers and 4 smaller ones. The itching woke me up at night.

I used to have serious all-over itching as a side effect of a Rx drug, and I found that very hot water short-circuits the itching sensation.
