I am talking about social liberals, not classical liberals, or even the type of liberal you think you are, which is not a liberal at all. I have made that plain from the start, and you keep trying to mix in progressive ideals and try to force me to accept your parameters for the discussion. I have been doing this a lot longer than you, and am not going to be distracted by your constant attempts to derail the discussion into something else.

The only one trying to derail the discussion is yourself. Someone who votes with the Republicans 62.9% of the time is not far left, simple as that.

The issue here is you think you have a monopoly on how to define terms.

Both support Abortion, Death Penalty, Patriot Act, Wars overseas, Gun Control, and both are against Gay Marriage.

He's socially moderate.

His positions on the Death Penalty, Patriot Act, War in Iraq, Gay Marriage, War on Drugs, Waterboarding, Universal Health Care prevent him from being a Social Liberal.

Unfortunately, it doesn't prove what you think it does. Why don't you go look at her voting record the entire time she has been in Congress and tell me what her voting record over that time is.

I've already given you numerous examples which you have decided to ignore. Snowe is definitely not far left. It's up to you to prove how she is far left.

The pledge is clearly advocating and/or suggesting the banning of pornography.

Actually, that part of the pledge is to protect children from pornography (likely by having some sort of censorship - parental or some sort of control mechanisms for parent...just a guess). I certainly saw no indication of any advocacy for a ban on it. But, if that is the case, then you are right; she will need some good luck with that.

But, based on her CV, I don't think she is quite that thick.

Your very words speak to the vagueness of your understanding of her pledge.

It lumped women and children together, so common sense dictates that it's an all-around ban of pornography.

Someone mentioned earlier that they/she should have separated it out, if it was truly the case that it's just an effort to protect children, however, the pledge does not state that. It's lumped together.

She is that thick...she's said some of the craziest stuff this side of the election in the past 2 years. "Gangster government" "all out expose on Congress", etc.
