I am FORCED to participate in social security. They are stealing from me, to help seniors with their retirement.
With that being said, there is a promise that they will steal from other younger people to pay for my retirement. (I doubt I will ever get my money back. Even if SS is still there, the eligible age will probably be 90 by the time I am in my 60s. You know the program is fucked, when the only answer to keep it from dissolving is making it harder to be claimed) I am totally against this, and every other form of redistribution the government does.
But I am still going to get my RESTITUTION when I am able. That doesnt make me a hypocrite. It makes me a victim of legalized theft and redistribution, finally getting some of the fruits of my labor back.

That’s why I have it written into my living will and other legal documents that NO GOVERNMENT MONEY OR BENEFIT shall be collected on my behalf or used to facilitate my care. Period. Full stop.

She collected under her real name, Alice O'Conner, and she qualified through her husband. While it may be that Rand paid into Social Security, it is highly doubtful she paid a dime into Medicare.

I have never understood the infatuation with Rand. From a literary perspective, well like another O'Connor said, Flannary, Ayns writing was God awful
