Average teachers pay vs average pay.

My daughter was a college grad, and her first job was $80K. She now makes over 6 figures only 2 years later.
Good for her. Doesn’t prove anything through. Plenty of colleg grads start in the 50s - and THEY don’t end up with 10 or 12 weeks of vacation.

Wearing pajamas to school is indicative of the problem: no respect.

School and education is serious business, and requires clothes.
Yeah, right! As I sit here at my computer in my underwear!

As long as their clothing is not distracting, I just want their ass covered and in a seat. That "in a seat" part is a whole other problem with attendance these days.

Can any of you marxist losers explain to me what the DOE does? We have state and county departments of education, so we need thumb twiddlers with their fingers up their ass?

Well I'm not a marxist, and even though I was in the military and Trump thinks I'm a sucker and loser - I'm not that either.

1. Administers grants to low income school districts to support hiring additional teaching staff to lower student teacher ratios.

2. Administers grants to schools to help support the expense for Special Needs students with IEP under the IDEA.

3. Administers Pell Grants to allow lower/middle class students to opportunity to attend seek a post secondary education.

4. Administers the Student Loan program to all students to attend a seek post secondary education.

5. Administers apprentice and trade programs to assist students with the acquisition to trade skills.

6. Facilitates national tracking of education programs and consolidation of information across all 50 states, D.C. and US Territories.

Just a few off the top of my head.

It's not a fucking vacation! The longest time off I had in 21 years was about 8 weeks with a weeklong training stuck right in the middle. That was because I changed school districts that summer.

Teachers need that mental break to keep from going postal.

Have you ever worked a job where you could not go to the restroom for up to 6 hours?

I call Bullshit
School Day is six hours and they have free periods with no classes and lunch

Are you telling me a Phys Ed Teacher or Kindergarten Teacher is working 10 hours a day?

You are confusing class periods with time required for the entire school day.

So? I did the same. Commuted into and out of DC, with an hour and a half commute. I did that because properties were more affordable out here.

Why should teachers get paid enough to live in an expensive area, and not other professionals?
Every profession is adjusted for cost of living, you idiot!

This is a good one as it compares "apples to apples" alternative careers/pay for teachers, with an ironic twist that many lower paying careers require more degrees.

Yup. And Christmas Break. And summer break.

And they still get $100,000 a year by their mid-30s.
In an area where the cost of housing is double what it is elsewhere in the United States. Why do you think NYC teachers make so damned much money? Because they have to live in f-ing NJ or CT in order to afford a shack with a tin roof, and a Rolls Carnardly to get 50 miles to work every morning.

Now compare the experience level of those averages. An average teacher has how many years' experience? I never made close to that figure with 21 years' experience

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.
It's hard to find "apples to apples" examples, but I did post one for you. Back to post #252.

You’re in public in your underwear?!

And clothing does make a difference. It sends a message of even minimal respect. The kids need to get dressed in the morning.

The entire society is on a major downhill slope, and that’s part of it. When I was a kid, the girls wore dresses to school. We don’t have to go back to that, but we need to teach kids that when you go out in public, you get dressed first.

That you are a teacher and think it’s OK for teens to come to school in their pajamas is part of the problem.

That site is complete BS and you knew it when you posted it.

No, but I do wear my sleep pants to get the newspaper in my driveway.

Why don't you get off your little(?) ass and get society to change to your liking? I have never seen anyone bitch so much and lie about their life experiences as much as you.

I retired years ago, thank you. How will you force parents to dress their kids now when I couldn't do it when I was a teacher starting in 1996. Good luck!

Girls need to dress modestly so the boys can concentrate on learning.

There was a girl in my class who would stretch, pull her arms back and stick her tits out. Every guy in class (including me) was watching for her to do it. :p

Out of 4,000,000 (or so) Public School teachers with 13-18 years experience (Mid 30's) a very small percentage of those with Bachelors or Masters degrees are making $100,000 per year. The small percentage that is are probably located in a very high cost of living area.
