Atlanta Mayor Signs Executive Order Against Governor Kemp's Voting Bill in a Giant Middle-Finger to the GOP - Political War in Georgia Begins

On Tuesday afternoon, Bottoms issued an Administrative Order directing the City’s Chief Equity Officer to implement a series of actions to diminish what her office called “new voting restrictions” imposed by Senate Bill 202. Her office stated these actions will ensure every Atlanta resident can exercise their right to vote.

“The voting restrictions of SB 202 will disproportionately impact Atlanta residents—particularly in communities of color and other minority groups,” Bottoms said in a statement. “This Administrative Order is designed to do what those in the majority of the state legislature did not—expand access to our right to vote.”

The order will enact efforts to develop a plan within the city’s authority to expand opportunity and access to the ballot box, according to the mayor’s office.
The plan involves training staff members on voter registration and general information on early, absentee, and in-person voting. The city staff will provide that information to residents to ensure people know how to obtain the identification required for absentee voting.
The city is also developing plans to provide information on voter registration and absentee voting using water bills, QR Codes, and weblinks to city websites, according to the statement.
The order also seeks coordination with business and community leaders to create Public Service Announcements to explain the newest voting related deadlines and timelines.

The Mayor is now fighting the Governor. It's Atlanta versus the rest of the state. This means all-out political war!

So shes a F'up just like Biden, the idiot who promised to unite America. BTW.. he lied on that one.
He's out right now claiming Georgia is passing JIM CROW laws. DO you know what an actual Jim Crow Law was? Obviously Biden does not, because right now he's working hard to divide Americans and make them not like each other.

Not handing out water within so many feet of a voter line.. or asking for I.D. (ALL RACES BTW)
Is not a Jim Crow Law...... Mr president is purposely full of shit to get things done for his political party. This is not good in any way French

I am hoping they keep the law... I can just see it during voting, Police arresting people for giving an elderly person water in a hot sun...

That will play so well on TV all over America during voting... They will interview the old person and how she was dehydrated but determined to vote...

Inspirational Story of the fight to vote, this will be put on loop in the media for 24 hours.... We might go celebrity for the arrest, Oprah could be a good one...

Actually I got it better... A White Grandmother & mother of a Vet (or exVet) who gets arrested giving water to elderly people in the line... Need the arrest footage..

The tag line "Your Vote is precious and needed to be defended by all, Vote today"

So please do this...
You stupid idiot you can give a bottle of water to whomever you want to. But you cannot walk up and tell them here is a bottle of water you should vote for my guy. Think for yourself for once, you are a proven stupid ass tool for your party.

First of all, I dont know what election calendar your looking at.IS it the July or August election? Last time I looked it was like November or something.. theres about.

Americans arn't that stupid or helpless. There is no law against bringing water with you in line and you can be given water so many feet away from the line. How many times have you been in the grocery store, left your spot and asked the person behind you to hold your spot for you? How many times have you held the place in line for someone else while they went off to get an item they forgot.

Leaving the line to get a bottle of water... IF IT EVEN CAME TO THAT.. is not even an issue. This is a made up thing, just like elections in the HOT SUN. (come on man!)
There's lots of things Dems are making up, like the election laws being Jim Crow, but by doing that Biden instantly shuts down debate and conversation about the bill. I mean who is going to negotiate with a RACIST? right? Thats what Biden just did with his bullshit. He has no intentions of uniting the country unless its by force. Thats what you voted for.

Not surprised the Dem Mayor wants to ensure that there are long lines in ATL to suppress the vote.

But her EO doesn't override State law. Try again. The people have spoken, they are sick of the long lines created by Dem local Govts, and they are sick of Dems pushing out business with their lies and fearmonger...

So your idea of "fighting the Governor" and "a big middle finger" is for her administration to learn what the laws are and to inform the public about complying with them? She's waging political war by doing her job?

Or is it that you somehow imagined that the new election integrity law contained a passage mandating that no one was allowed to be educated about it?

So this dumbass is gonna restrict the number of voting days and lessen the hours to vote that this bill implemented.

Good call, Moron.

I didn't see where she said that. As far as I can tell, she's "threatening" to have her administration read the law, and then tell people how to comply with it. Which . . . I'm missing the warfare implied there.

total mischaracterization of her actions. She is going to try to educate the public to comply with the voting requirements.

BFD.

Call me cynical, but I think they're also going to try to find loopholes to get around the law that they can educate people on, but whatever.

The details of her EO are in the opening post.

Which you clearly didn't read. Or possibly just didn't understand, since schools today don't teach reading comprehension.

From the article linked in your "triumphant" OP:

So basically, "We're going to read the law and then tell people how to comply with it". Not seeing the "big middle finger" there.

Here's the actual text of her executive order.

If you can find anything in there that's remotely like the "warfare" you excitedly told us was happening, I'll tell your Mommy to give you a cookie.

Why are you such a racist? Why do you want to deny, belittle, and demean what black people went through after the Civil War? You should be ashamed to be such a racial hater, Jethro.

The article is rather vague about what her EO consist of, but she is repeating the usual lies claiming voter suppression.

She has ZERO authority to override the STATE election laws.

The article actually isn't vague at all. What it says is literally all that's in the EO. There's a bunch of initial twaddle about, "Republicans are so MEAN, and you should really, really believe they're trying to be mean to you", and then she just says, "So we're going to read that law and tell everyone how to comply with it."

Um, okay.

Sensational Headlines. Nothing else. There ain't shit she can do to overrule the Legislature.

Her city is gonna lose 100 million dollars from having no All-Star game. Atlanta's population is 51% Black...Denver's
population is 76% White and MLB has moved the all-star game there and the Mayor is cool with that?

30% of Atlanta business is Black-Owned...they are the one's that are going to suffer the loss of income.

And she thinks her worthless order is gonna change anything? Get back to your hut, Momma. The age-old
adage still rings true today.

"Black is Beautiful
Tan is Grand
By WHITE
Will always be...
The Big Boss Man."

Yeah, we’ll just have to be satisfied with controlling both houses of Congress, and the presidency. We will just have to settle for passing the stimulus bill, the infrastructure bill, the voting rights bill hr 1, which does overrule the state legislature, prosecuting Donald Trump, and his kids, convicting a whole lot of white boys of felonies for their treason in January, and taking away their gun rights, appointing hundreds of judges to the federal district and appeals courts, getting vaccines in everybody’s arms, and restricting anyone who doesn’t get one from working or going to school, and just generally running roughshod over red state amerikkka, until we win re-election in 2024.

we’ll just have to settle for that boss man.

What in my post makes you think I'm a racist??

This idiot is gonna get rid of the drop boxes this bill requires?
and those first time ever Sunday voting days
Why are these racist pushing that blacks can't get an ID when that is a lie
What is it about showing who you are and legally allowed to vote that brings fear to democrats?

Our democrats never thought highly of blacks. Biden was amazed that Obama could shower and speak!

Now he said they don't know how to get ID or even use the Internet

I believe someone else - I wish I could remember who - said that they couldn't possibly find their ID number on their driver's licenses, and you have to have that for absentee voting, so it's voter suppression.

Yeah, nothing racist about saying that black people are incapable of cracking this complicated code.

Anyone out there having difficulty figuring out the ID number? Anyone?

If you think black people can't handle this "difficult" task, then you MIGHT just be a racist pig.
