Good news! Seems like the broad momentum of pseudo-“insurrectionary” Trumpism has been well and truly broken. Let us hope it lasts and isn’t followed by real domestic terrorism from frustrated lunatics who think the Democrats are “socialists,” or for “China First.”

2022 and 2024 will be normal. The last 4 years have been so chaotic and abysmal in terms of the atmosphere that it seems that our politics are no better than that of a third world nation. It's hard to remember that it was within 12 years or so that John McCain had to slap down one of his supporters and tell her that Obama was a good decent man. It was 8 years ago or so that Romney and Obama did the Al Smith dinner.... The WWE circuit has only been camped out in Washington for 4 years. When the lie fest goes away...things will get back to normal. The "outrage" will subside as people no longer have their wrongheaded and stupid conspiracy theories re-enforced by a higher authority.

As for the "true believers" like zip tie guy (former Air Force Officer), that is a problem that is going to have to be solved by law enforcement I'm afraid. What you'll see is more Eric Rudolphs; guerilla style attacks on soft targets. The perpetrators will be hunted down like dogs and dealt with. The support systems are there but they are nowhere near as extensive as the perps think. We have kids turning in their parents....parents turning in their kids....siblings spilling the beans on other siblings.

The mental illness of the blob supporters is manifesting itself in very public ways that are easily detectable. And that is a good thing insofar as the more public and the more brazen they become...the more easily identified they are. Hence 1/6/21 wasn't the first time zip tie guy decided to break federal law. He's been contemplating it for years. The opportunity presented itself, he did it in a public and brazen method, and now he's been arrested. Texas being Texas, they let him out on "house arrest"....I'm sure he's plotting his next move at some point.
