I have a question, and I'd appreciate a straight answer. Insults and name-calling are not needed.
It's not just Democrats. Not by a long shot. The fact is, Trump has been harshly criticized as being unfit by former WH staffers, former Republican congresspeople, former WH lawyers, his former Cabinet members, his former Generals, his former Chief of Staff, Trump-appointed judges, Republican retired judges, his former Security Department officials, Republican election officials, his former Vice President, conservative journalists, his former Attorney General, many Republicans, and people from across the political spectrum.
So, my question: Are you aware of that?
I'll believe whatever you say. No squabbling required. Thanks in advance.
Yep, I'm quite aware of it.
I'm well aware of all the criticisms of Trump. How could I not be? They are everywhere, leaking through the wall, bubbling up from the floors. The mainstream media rants about him every day. And even the supposedly "pro-Trump" media still covers it, so it's unavoidable.
Trump is a hugely flawed man. Despite what the Left thinks, he's not "worshipped" and his supporters aren't "in a cult". We're well aware of his HUGE ego, his penchant for sometimes making rash decisions, his mercurial personality. We've watched him now for a decade, even longer if one includes
"The Apprentice" (which I never watched).
When he first announced he was running for President in 2015, I rolled my eyes and laughed. I couldn't stand his approach: mocking his opponents (even fellow Republicans), the snarky remarks, etc.
When he got the GOP nomination, I was disappointed.
When the election rolled around in November, despite my intense dislike and lack of respect for Hillary Clinton, I couldn't pull the lever for Trump.
But it's said you can judge a man by the enemies he makes.
I was born hating everything about the Left. And when I saw how they attacked Trump, by the time of his inauguration, I was tentatively stepping onto the train.
After his first term, I was sold. Despite his many flaws, and his very halting first steps (Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State???), I began to see that his heart is in the right place. And, yes, he does have a heart.
The cartoon image of him, the caricature is a gross exaggeration of the man.
He is what he is. And I'm grateful he came along and shook things up. A weak Republican party, led by wimps like Mitt Romney, didn't serve my interests or those of the country, IMHO. And the Democrat Party has lurched FAR Left.
Trump is the cure, as far as I'm concerned.
