Zone1 Are Jews the choosen people of God?

True. The Jews will kindle a fire in all of Israel. You can smell it smoldering now. :omg:

What a nonsense. Which fire was in the thorn bush and which fire enlightened the Jew Jesus? Or did you only forget to enlighten the piece of black coal in your dark soul?

Ezekiel 5:
3 Thou shalt also take thereof a few in number, and bind them in thy skirts.

4 Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.

Eh? What has this to do with what on what reason? The best will be to ask a Rabbi - because this is a text from the Old Testament - what this refers to if you should be interested in this text although you are not a Jew. But could be you will get no answer or instruction how to understand this textes. Or do you think about to convert to the Jewish religion? In this case it is even necessary to speak with a Rabbi.

You took issue with it. This is my answer.

How to say this now? You are perhaps proud on your true stand - but did you ever see a cartoon character who stands in the air and starts to look down to his feet? Do not do so! Return and go back a little while. Good luck.

If the narrative casts the Jews in a negative light a Rabbi will likely explain it away, as they have done with much of the OT.

History is history and prophecy is prophecy, there for any to understand. No Rabbi needed.

The Jews were "chosen" to bring the Torah to mankind. That mission remains in effect; how well they are doing at it is a matter of some dispute. Keep in mind that the person we refer to as Jesus Christ was born an Orthodox Jew, lived as an Orthodox Jew, and died as an Orthodox Jew, proclaiming that he did not intend to change the Torah at all.

So one might say that Christianity has taken on the task of bringing the Torah - as enhanced by the teachings of Christ - to the rest of the world. Again, how "we" are doing is a matter for discussion.

What was an Orthodox Jew 2000 years s ago?

They bypassed rabbinic approval and set themselves, at least implicitly, as a rival intellectual elite. A bitter struggle ensued. Reacting to Mendelssohn's assertion that freedom of conscience must replace communal censure, Rabbi Cohen of Hamburg commented:

The very foundation of the Law and commandments rests on coercion, enabling to force obedience and punish the transgressor. Denying this fact is akin to denying the sun at noon.[4]

no ... all beings are equal in their pursuit of the everlasting - as by heavenly persuasion.

the jews simply chose to listen to who pleases them and take care of whoever speaks differently.

The sect of the Pharisees appropriated that authority from the Levites. They had no Godly authority to do so. They then went on to pervert the Law.

Jews are thinking people.

The ridiculous attempt at defining Jews,
by any set definition, let alone a school of thought,
is usually done by religious missionaries seeking conformity.

Not a religion? Not a race?
