Anyone have cataract surgery?

ahh hell...i am all for you not using quack docs but lets be real here.....your eye is failing.....and fixable now....why wait....do it while you are young...you will recover faster and all....i swear you and grumpy are peas in a pod....o i ll be blind before i do shit....just like he was nearly ******* cripple by the time i got him to do shit...

who the hell is not scared of surgery? people with more mental issues than us? of course you are scared....buck up...find a good doctor and get this done...and stop watching shit on youtube...i watched the damn knee shit on youtube and never let grumpy watch it....i was ashamed that i was encouraging another human being to go thru this...now after a year or more out....he is glad he did it..as you will be on the other side of this

My regular eye doctor told me long ago I had one. In March during my regular exam, he said it was worse and NOW it was bad enough for the surgery and for Medicaid to pay for it. I also have an astigmatism. Double whammy. I watched the surgery on youtube...couple of them, actually. So I know how it is done. It makes me nervous. But reading what I read about these surgeons makes it worse because they have bad reviews. And every eye place I visted on the net..including the link above from the NY times, mayo clinic, eye surgeons websites, etc...all say ONLY to have the surgery done when it affects your abilities to drive, work, etc. It depends on the person as each individual is different. For me...it is annoying due to the blurriness but it is not where I can't see colors any different from the good eye. Which also is showing signs of cataracts but small ones. I ain't blind. My vision is not cloudy, nor does it affect my every day life. So...each one of those places said there is no hurry about cataracts. If you wanna wait...then wait. So I am.
Find a good doctor and get it done.
They wil not get better on their own and you will see better than you ever have
Surgery is quick and painless. I never met anyone who regretted having it. Most are thrilled with the results

I've had the surgery on both eyes with great results.

Gracie....

You might wish to seek out a retinal specialist for a close look. What you're describing suggests something other than cataracts might be going on. I've dealt with cataracts and a variety of other issues. Remember, carpenters like to work with wood. Roofers like to work on shingles. Landscapers like to work on lawns.

These are retinal specialists. All three of them.

Ain't gonna do it. Not right now. Besides...its an extra 600 bucks for the lens that medicaid does not cover. They just pay for the surgery. Regardless...not gonna do it. Nope.

I can still see. When I can't, then I will.

Did mine today, gracie. Went very easily.

i had lasik done a little over a year ago. not the same thing, but similar. i qas nervous, but it was easy, painless, and the results are amazing

My 41 year old son says the same thing about lasik.

It's amazing. I've worn glasses since i was 11 - freaking coke bottle goggles. my vision was horrible.

now i have better than 20/20. it's amazing to wake up in the morning and not have to grope around for my glasses.

and it really was painless and quick. can't recommend highly enough

You can already see well enough and all to be able to be on the computer? Is it okay to be?? I remember when my mom had that surgery. She did well too.

Kat, thank you for asking. I am not seeing perfectly but have been able to remove the lens in the eyeglass frame. It is dramatically improving, yes.
