It's amazing how much they charge for 5 cents worth of water, CO2 and syrup. A friend of mine managed a restaurant and he said they made most of their $$$$ off drinks and coffee.

When I get into Spokane(quite a drive!) I load up on sandwiches that I purchase @ the Holiday convenience store that's located on north Division st. Sausage, egg & cheese muffin only $2.50. Many other types of prepared sandwiches @ a bargain price & fresh! Marsha & her crew keep that store super clean & offer smiles to compliment an already pleasant atmosphere. They used to have a few tables & chairs but I think local g'ment made them eliminate seating in the store which was packed in the mornings!!! A convenience store that offered a restaurant type of atmosphere like can you believe it? The other Holiday convenience stores located throughout Spokane are decent for sure but can't live up to the quality of that one of a kind north Division st. store. Even the homeless have started camping out on the lawn to the north side of the store! I have never seen any other convenience store even close to this one(manicured lawns/shrubs) like who needs a restaurant when we got Holiday N. Division st???

Yep, we got those kinds of down home type stores here as well. They usually keep the same workforce, and most are family or friend's. Yes great experiences for sure, but alot of them are getting gone now, as if an era has finally past. Being over taken by the corporate stores in which their super cheap products are their main draw.

Sad but in many cases it's true. Even if not stupid, they may be lazy in alot of ways. Some are so laid back that our strength is seen as a weakness, and their lazyness is seen as their strength.. lol

If all they can find is stupid employees it's because the management is stupid and clueless themselves, and nobody with an IQ over 10 will work for them more than a few days.

As for food place, yes, I've quit eating at a lot of them, one Tex Mex place I used to love served me room temperature food, I demanded a refund and left. My favorite fast food burger joint is fully staffed and and the quality control is still above par, and the Taco Casa down the street is still above standards; other than those two I eat at home a lot more now.

Talk about eating out, yesterday I took my boys for a stroll around the North End and every eatery was packed to the rafters and out into outdoor seating along the narrow avenues. Some serious economic activity going on. The neighborhood was full of traditional sounds and smells.

Most people don't eat out of sewers like you do, and find their smell offensive.

I don't generally rarely eat out at fast food places but it seems to me that if I did and had your problems, I'd call the establishment and speak to the manager. Then I'd write the president of the corporation. Fck those websites.

So, I'm pretty sure that what Unokatare is trying to imply that there may be something else fluffing up their food. I'm not POSITIVE of this, but I do know that some burger places cheapen their meat by using soy, and I would not be surprised if Taco Baco did something similar.

Side note, since I'm new and may be missing something, why is Unokatare getting so much crap in this thread? I haven't seen him do anything wrong, yet we have people calling him names and implying he eats in a sewer.

One burger place advertised no meat burgers!!!! Haven't heard much that came from that promotion though. I don't buy burger tacos, I buy tacos with chunks of meat or shredded. Now, the joke is that there is a lot of 'mystery meat' in some (let's just say) less than reputable purveyors. What's in the Chow Mein too?? Hey, I just figure if it don't make you it makes you stronger....Oh Well.........
