The law concerning an infant more than a month old but less than 5 years old, does this mean there is no value in a child more than 5 years old? Of course not. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. You should know this. You are trying to say there is value for an unborn from Exodus but not any value from birth to one month? Come one. To save time, you do know there is a New Testament with new laws and commandments. And, in my case, the Lord has come to the earth again giving new laws and commandments that are in our latter day scriptures. This includes the higher law that was not included in the Old Testament. Much is in the New Testament but ignored by most Christians. In any event, to kill an unborn for any reason that doesn't include the health of the mother, rape or incest, is murder.

The unborn weren't counted at all. The reason they didn't count babies under a month is because when you had an infant mortality rate of 50%, there wasn't any reason to bother. And that's the problem. Up until the last century, infant mortality rates were incredibly high, so women had to pump out six babies to maybe get two that would make it to adulthood. An Extreme Case would be Queen Anne of England, who had 17 pregnancies and not a one of them lived long enough to be an heir. heck, they didn't even give most of them names, because those people didn't consider fetuses to be people. And this was someone with the best care the time period had to offer.

The debate is perfectly understandable. The Hebrews didn't consider fetuses to be people. They also didn't get terribly attached to infants because infant mortality was so high.
