Each school must have an anti-bullying specialist and an anti-bullying team. No money for it though.

Teen Bullying has been around for a long long time. Why all the sudden hysteria? I think some are trying to use it for a political agenda. All this sudden hysteria over bullying seems pretty fishy to me. Looks like there are political agendas attached to this hysteria. I see no reason for the Government to take any more action on "Bullying." There are already many Laws on the books which address assault. These newly proposed Laws are completely unnecessary.

Samsons pic was right on the mark. I have that paperweight on my desk. Its taken me years of teaching to learn to detach. I'm tired of playing mother, friend, mentor, social worker, banker, nurse, etc. I'm paid to teach. And that's what I love to do. I'm not going to stoop to the level of high school drama. That's for the kids to figure out. In the real world, no one cares who's ******* your boyfriend and there won't be committees and specialists to "resolve the problem". Sheez.

But, since we're on the subject of "choice" Sunnidiot, your CHOOSING to convert from Christianity to Islam in a time when many Muslims are being looked at suspiciously, means that you've "chosen" to live as a hated minority.

I fully believe gays CHOOSE to be gay, but don't believe that is an excuse to bully or h arras them.

It simply is not true con hog. There is plenty of evidence supporting the simple fact that they were born that way. My sister is a lesbian and whenever she talked about sex with a man she would get all skeevied out because she is a man in every respect but her sex. She has been in a committed relationship with a dancer for over ten years.

Or looked at another way, why would anyone choose to engage in a lifestyle that will get them killed in most regions of the planet?

What new laws to protect teens from bullying would be wrong?
How is a political agenda to protect teens from criminals a bad idea?
If more teens are being bullied these days the existing laws are not effective.
Why are you against more laws to punish those that commit crimes?
Why do you want to protect bullies that committ crimes?

I come from a family of teachers, private and public. My father was a private school principal after lettering in 4 sports in college and landing as an officer with the 2nd Marines in WWII in the Pacific too many places to remember. He taught at the university level for many years. He favored new laws to attack bullying as he stated many times the whiner bitching lazy teacher of the modern day that moaned and groaned about doing anything about the bullies in their midst was the enabler.

I played football for private and public schools for 14 years. I enjoyed kicking the asses of the bullies and it was teachers like you that got got us into trouble for sticking up for the kids being bullied. You take the easy way out and claim it is "political". What BS.
I saw my share of wimps like you. Kids get picked on, pushed around and beat on, we kick the bullies ass and you write us up. You come to work, put your time in and draw your check. When a kid gets picked and beat on you turn your back. It is your JOB to do something about it, quit enabling it and support ALL efforts to stop it. Just because it "has been going on forever" is no excuse.

I think teachers should be held liable for not doing anything.

I remember when I was a kid the teachers and the schools didn't do much of anything to help no matter how much you told them. So I have very little sympathy for them.
