Zone1 Another question to ponder

But why would he want us to argue over the meaning of his book? And he, apparently, knew we would. What could he gain from division in belief about him?

I believe it is because God actually hides Himself. He doesn't reveal Himself to everybody or anybody. And when He Authored His Book, the Bible, He is in it, but He also hides Himself in it. And He can see just how much someone really wants to know Him or know about Him by their searching and studying His Word.

(Proverbs 25:2) "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; but the honour of kings is to search out a matter."

And I think the Psalmist was one of those honorable Kings. (Psalms 119:162) "I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil."

My understanding comes from my knowledge of Hebrew language I learned in 4 years of Hebrew school, my Orthodox grandfather and the rabies who study the Pentateuch as well as an understanding of Jewish culture and idiomatic expressions. There is no original sin fall of man hell or devil in Genesis. Those concepts are 100% incompatible with Judaism.
Since Christianity is based on Jewish works I have every right to question its honesty and authenticity.
You have your own bible the NT I dont comment on that. But when you distort mine Im going to point that out
And I learned from one whose original language was Hebrew. I have also read commentaries from many rabbis and Jewish scholars.

What you refuse to understand about "Original Sin" is it sums up our human nature. Ever hear of Just So stories? Those who take an interest in Genesis learn that Adam is also the word for all of mankind. Eve is the word to describe women, particularly mothers.

The author of Genesis notes God's plan is for mankind to freely choose obedience and the benefits and blessings that come forth from obedience but the story's characters (Adam and Eve) decided to do things their way. There were consequences, but with those consequences was God's assurance He would still remain with them through thick and thin.

I think it is amazing how the Just So story was woven about mankind's desire to "Do It My Way." Our ancestors were amazing storytellers, story creators--a great talent we may have lost while designating them as "savages".

You claim (or seem to claim) that none of us were born with human nature! Our nature is disobedience/do it my way and all of mankind is endowed with that. One of our ancestors wrote an account which painted a picture of how it all started--with mankind's desire to do things their way. I had numerous brothers and sisters, not to mention my own children. One of the first stages they go through is the desire/determination to dress themselves--and then to go on to overcome almost every "No" thrown in their way.

"Original Sin" was a coined phrased that summed up the original author's story in two words. Any English teacher instructing students on how to summarize couldn't come up with a better example.

Seriously, I am tired of your mewling about the "original sin", that first act of mankind's disobedience as portrayed by the author of Genesis. So you don't get coined phrases. So you don't get summations. So you don't understand the purpose of "Just So stories. I'm surprised you were promoted from middle school to high school.

Perhaps look at it this way: Christians say "Original Sin" and immediately the story in Genesis--in its entirety--springs to mind. What two words do you suggest Judaism use? Right. They simply tell the entire story and their own emphasis on particular parts.

Thats all you got thats not even relevant or intelligent. The Torah Pentateuch 5 books of Moses is Judaism. Try again and this time make sense

And you don't even believe that. Why is the TANAKH called the Holy Scriptures?

The word original sin is never mentioned. Christians added the word original to exaggerate its meaning. This conflicts with Gods position that the sin of one cant be extended to all of humanity. By exaggerating the meaning Christians have now created an inherent guilt in every person not based on their acts. The only way to remove it is to become a Christian or burn in hell forever. What load of manipulative crap that is. There is no hell or devil you made that up to. Put it all together believe in Jesus or he will punish you. Genesis is man chooses of his free will to believe. You people needed a threat. What followed was thousands of yeas of Christian persecution of Jews who know it was all bull shit.

Genesis is Gods moral teaching of man and the trial for mans freedom when he freely without the threat of hell chooses to come to God. Our way is better humane peaceful based on free will and the inherent true nature of humanity. Freedom.
Your way is violent

IT IS A STORY! The summation of the story is Original Sin. St. Augustine first used it (fifth century) to explain/distinguish between imitating the exact disobedience of Adam and what is already inherent in human nature. As you know (Exodus 20 and Exodus 34), sins of past generations can still effect descendants. There is a difference between being guilty of a sin and being affected by the sin that was committed by others.

So, no. Christians know the difference between what is inherent in human nature and a sin they actually committed, which is also noted in Ezekiel. Baptism removes sin--it does not remove human nature. Baptism (or becoming Christian) is entering the Kingdom of God and following the Way of Christ.

Whenever you use the "burn in hell" statement, I want you to quote the passage from Catechism of the Catholic Church where you obviously believe this is stated, or whatever Christian denomination source you feel gave you this information. Christianity teaches redemption for the entire world, and salvation for those who wish to exist in God's saving grace.

Please stop falsifying Christianity. Exactly what is in it for you--falsifying another faith? I see it as being very insecure in your own faith, whatever that faith is.

Hell is not about disobedience. Hell is about an individual choice to choose an existence totally free from God and his ways. Please stop pretending you know what Christianity teaches when you clearly haven't a clue--but think falsifying it serves some purpose.

If you think you were included, then you probably are.
I sure do get accused of it a lot but with age comes the wisdom to ignore such things. All that really matters is trusting God.

Most biblical text is allegorical so its easy to miss the meaning or as Christians have done make up their own version of Genesis. Then Christians came along and distorted the entire meaning. My favorite error is they claimed use of the royal we referred to the trinity.
You really got it bad.

According to Hafar 1014....but according to no one else. Especially not Jesus.

Again, care to tell us you made up the "burn in hell" idea, or alternately, exactly who gave it to you. Sources are needed. Next, tell us why you are determined to falsify Christian teachings? What is your end game?

I dont think God trusts you
