The last time I saw somebody actually embarrassed by their performance at a convention was back in '88 when Bill Clinton didn't know how to shut up and the delegates displayed their displeasure. Otherwise these conventions are, "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?", sort of a thing.
