Think about it. The world, and not just the United States instituted shutdowns, so you can't blame it on a democratic plot, since that would have stopped at our border.

So given the need to shut down, the difference was how the pandemic was handled, to determine the size and duration of the shutdown.

The irony is that had we shut down earlier and longer, we would have recovered faster.

No country has recovered from COVID regardless of what they did.

And the US with 4% of the worlds population had 20% of the COVID-19 deaths worldwide.
