“At last night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, a gunman, armed with multiple weapons stormed a security checkpoint, fired shots, and forced the evacuation of the president of the United States, journalists, lawmakers, and military leaders. A Secret Service agent was hit, saved only by a bulletproof vest.

This isn’t normal. It isn’t random.

And no matter how loudly the MAGA movement insists, it isn’t the fault of Donald Trump’s critics. The argument that criticism of Donald Trump somehow incites violence against him isn’t just wrong. It’s an inversion of reality so brazen that it demands to be confronted directly.
[…]
Think about that after a decade of rhetoric that includes calls for punishment against political enemies, praise for supporters who use force, and language that casts opponents as traitors, vermin, or existential threats.

The claim is that criticism — speech, journalism, dissent — is the danger. It’s absurd. It’s dishonest.

And it’s dangerous because it attempts to criminalize dissent, while absolving the most powerful megaphone in American politics of any responsibility for the climate it has helped create.”

And it’s not just Trump; conservatives have likewise engaged in rhetoric of violence directed at political opponents and perceived enemies.

To be clear, this Leftist is making the claim that words you don't like = good to shoot him in the head

According to the book "The Making of Donald Trump" by David Cay Johnston, Trump has made a LOT of enemies stemming back to the mid-1980s. According to the author, Trump has always been "full of himself" and treated life like PT Barnum selling tickets to his various side shows. He likely has enemies on both sides of the aisle. He's basically a modern day Mafia Boss only sillier looking.

Blaming Trump because a black man tried to kill him? You people are unbelievable.

Leftist violence is getting out of hand
Trump protecting the epstein clients is the end for America

When they return to power they will insure Americans never have another chance for justice.

Without Nuremberg 2.0. All of other efforts to save America will be for nothing. Most of MAGA will die in prisons.

Trump = senile/compromised

Democrats = traitors

It's all across the spectrum not just Epstein or Trump.

Politics is a hot mess and when violence becomes the answer it's time to reevaluate

It is a serious, serious mistake to argue, "He had it coming to him" no matter how much of a total asshole Trump is, okay?

Serious mistake.

True, seems to have taken a foothold around 2008 and further on. Wonder why?
The Neocon movement vs the Woke movement have been taking turns bending the American people over and systematically making it harder and harder for families to make ends meet. Desperate times lead to desperate measures.

Probably time to stop the division and get back to the well being of the people and country but I suspect that window closed

Hmmm?

Calling people 'deplorable', constantly calling Trump and his supporters fascists, Hitler, saying there would never be any more elections, etc.

Yeah, the Dems rhetoric at work.

Both sides have the extremes, one side seems to be loaded more than the other

No.
It certainly isn't random.
It's because your party, the Democrat Party, is a party of violence that has members and followers who have attempted to kill Donald Trump three times, attempted to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavenaugh, attempted to kill Congressman Steve Scalise, and assassinated Charlie Kirk. I'm sure there are others who escape my memory at the moment but I think that's enough proof that your sick party is a danger to American security.
Don't try to blame it on Donald Trump's words or thoughts.
Your party has engaged in calling him "Hitler" and "fascist" and wanting to "destroy our democracy", all of which are COMPLETE LIES.
So tell your party to stop being violent.
And stop lying.
