Jesus gave His stamp of approval to the Scriptures you called "fables"

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life

You denied the Christian Scriptures as "FABLES' -- the very same Scripture Jesus endorsed.
I’m just agreeing with Ben Franklin. This is what I wrote:

Are you telling me that our public schools that shape the minds everybody’s kids that have no religion or other religions than Christianity should be taught that the story about Adam and Eve is the Truth?

Because not all religions believe there is such a thing as Original Sin.

I could see it at the high school level, in a course on comparative religions where the discussion is on the different beliefs of different religions.

Should they teach students what Benjamin Franklin said about original sin?
Sure. Why not?
But they should not teach the story of Adam and Eve and original sin as truth..
My point is that we teach a lot of stories in school, along with who wrote them and when. These include Greek mythology, Aesop's fables, and folklore such as Paul Bunyan. Why not the story of Adam and Eve?

It's a story. Nowhere in the story itself is original sin even mentioned. Shall we also skip over Egyptian folklore regarding Osiris and Isis? Or how about skipping past mythical details involving Buddha

Why the need to to scrub and sanitize well-known stories handed down through the ages?

Personally, I think students should be able to choose--as an elective--any religion or philosophy they wish to study. All should be available.

I say teach it as fiction. Do not teach it as truth.

I say teach it as fiction. Do not teach it as truth.
And I say, just teach it as we do with any other story in literature. What is the theme/lesson? Is it best described as history, mythology, folklore, fable, legend or just so literature. Think about it. What other stories in literature do you think teachers need to emphasize, "Oh, by the way, this is fiction." Harry Potter? The Outsiders? How about Holes?

There is no reason to be so fearful.

you ignore the 1st century events - the repudiation of judaism, moses their false commandments and claims made for their false genesis ...

jesus taught self determination is the motivation a&e chose than servitude and denial to accomplish the heavenly goal to sin no more as required for judgement and admission to the everlasting as equals to those already there.

Original sin is solely a Christian theology (so far as I know). If it is taught in public schools it would likely have to be taught alongside the theology of all other religions, e.g., the 5 pillars of Islam and Jewish fast for forgiveness (Yom Kippur). I could see it turning into a very confusing time for children and an uncomfortable time for parents. Some things public schools are OK doing, math, reading, etc., religion not so much.

The recent SCOTUS ruling means that parents could just take their children out of school when the theology of other religions is taught so their would be a logistical mess for the schools.

If we teach the Christian concept of Original Sin, we also need to teach the religions where there is no such thing. Thus, it could be part of a comparative religions course, and at the high school level.

Our kids can’t read. Let’s focus all time on basic academic skills so they can become functioning, self-supporting adults.

Daughter took a class like this in middle school, I wanna say 7th grade. They learned all about Hinduism, Islam, etc. Teacher was preaching inclusivity but my daughter quietly told her (one on one) that she believes there is only one God and Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. The teacher said, and I quote: "Well, that's a stupid belief".

We had some things to say about that

As you know, I am Jewish and don’t believe in Jesus. That said, that was a really stupid and unacceptable thing for the teacher to say. I hope you reported her.

There is no reason to be so fearful.

I am not fearful - I am sickened, very very deep in my Rational Theist Heart, at the comprehension that 50 million mostly white Evangelical Christian Churchgoers enjoy sending Stephen Miller’s heavily armed masked vicious and cruel Gestapo Wannabee Thugs into sanctuary communities and Christiam churches in sanctuary cities and rural communities everywhere to deport some of the best human beings America is fortunate to have on our soil

I am appalled at seeing the gift of individual liberty we have from our founding generation, what our Rational Theists - Thomas Paine, Jefferson, Madison, Washington and Adams left us to care for and the vast mass of Christians are hiding in the shadows as if falling back into the tyranny of STATE/CHURCH/WEALTH just can’t happen here

Yes I am angry. Angry for my granddaughter’s sake.

We need you Tom.
