The Articles of Confederation was repealed and the US Constitution was ratified by 9 of the 13 states in 1788. The remaining 4 states would ratify it by 1790.

Constitutions have to change because life, laws, and mores of society change. This is true of all constitutions, the US constitutions, state constitutions, and those of other countries.

In your real constitution, there was not protection against slavery. Senators were appointed, not elected. There was no limit on how many terms a president could serve. There was no provision for a temporary transfer of power from an incapacitated president to the vice president. And women did not have the right to vote. ect, etc.

Of course it was not liked because it was a comprise. Nobody got exactly what they wanted. If one faction had loved the constitution another faction would have hated it.

Today, it really doesn't make much difference because the constitution has been accepted as the law of the land for 233 years and the only thing that is going to change that is insurrection. That was tried on Jan 6th and failed. I have no doubt that there will be more attempts.
