There is no doubt that Russia would have been very happy if Sanders had won the nomination. That would have increased the odds of Trump winning. Russia did not want Hillary Clinton as President. They bought pro-Trump ads on social media in the battleground states that Manafort talked about when he provided campaign information to a Russian business associate with ties to Russian Intelligence.
