TSA workers are bailing on airports because they are not getting paid.

Airlines should "tip" them a daily stipend for every day worked to keep the airports opened.

Airlines could even add a dollar or so surcharge to tickets to cover the tax-free "tip".

Have them put a tip jar out. Airline passengers can’t tip them for their incredible customer service.

Nope, won't fix the problem.

When their is a government "shut down", then freaking CLOSE IT. None of this "work now, pay latter" crap. Shut it down.

And I'm not talking about this instance involving DHS/ICE/CBP/TSA, I'm talking in general.

People go "Oh, we can't shut thing down because it would hurt people!", which should be the ******* point. Shut it down and make it hurt, that way the politicians will have to deal with the pain.

I'm a businessman. Why should airlines (who are already under financial strain for rising fuel costs) pay for something they don't pay for in the first place? It's not their fault this part of the government is shut down.

If I were one of these workers, I would find a job that actually pays money instead of requiring you to work for free.

As I said, passengers could pay a dollar for not wasting hours in a mile long line, and airlines could pay a dollar or lose $millions in canceled trips.
