Republicans have been questioning the reliability of mail-in voting for months now. Many claim absentee balloting is very erratic and potentially open to miscounting and fraud.
On the other side, Democrats say there’s no evidence that mail-in voting is unreliable. The only problem is we often hear of mix-ups and other small fiascos around the country.

Take what happened in Wisconsin, for example:
Apparently, the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office discovered three full trays of mail sitting in a roadside ditch. They were found shortly after 8 a.m. on Monday.
The Sheriff’s Office brought the mail to the nearby post office, but how the trays got in the ditch remains a question.

Even if there weren’t a lot of ballots, this is still a disturbing story — how many ballots could be lost when millions flood the post office in November?
And this isn’t the only, or the most serious, event concerning mail-in voting.
In the swing state of Pennsylvania, law enforcement officials discovered that some military ballots had been “discarded” after being opened.
