About Bombing Boats

If you say so. Dying is not a great way to make a living.

But even if you are correct, if the drug lords keep getting their boats blowed up, they will stop using them long before they run out of desperate poor people to crew them.
We interdict but a tiny percentage of the drugs entering the US. A tiny percent.

This loss of a boat is shrinkage to the capitalist drug lords. Part of the cost of doing business. No big deal.

The loss of some indigent mules means even less to them.

The price of those drugs on the street won't even experience a blip.

As for running out of desperate poor people, that will never happen. These are people willing to literally walk a thousand miles to pick lettuce in our fields. A boat ride is a pleasant shortcut.

But at the next Cabinet meeting Pam Bondi will fluff Trump's mushroom with, "President Trump, by blowing up that boat you have saved the lives of 562 million Americans."

.

How about we ship the addicts down to South America? Just think of all the money the cartels would save, reducing their shipping costs. Sounds like a WIN WIN.
It's all about the cruelty with MAGAs.

Sounds like we need to be blowing up a lot more drug boats, and planes and trucks and any other means of transport.

In MAGA world, drug lords are a nail, desperate poor people are a nail, drug addicts are a nail.

Kill 'em all.

Gosh, I wonder why no one has ever thought of that!

Doing the same thing over and over...

As in all things Trump and other totalitarians, everything looks like a nail which must be hammered. Due process is not the strong suit of cowardly wannabe tough guys.

The arguing back and forth over the legality of bombing a boat allegedly carrying drugs is entirely missing the actual issue.

The bombing of the boat was for the consumption of the MAGAs. "Oooooooh, lookee the fi-uh-wuhks! Preeeeetteeee! Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk!"

.
Here's the thing.

A drug lord is not going to say to himself, "Gosh darn it. Trump got me. I guess I'll give up the drug business and start selling Amway products."

You think a drug lord gives a damn about some dead mules? Seriously? That boat was shrinkage!

The War On Drugs has been a colossal failure because American politicians do not understand how capitalism works.

Drug lords are the epitome of capitalists. Hell, they probably use Trump crypto to launder their money.

It's all about supply and demand.

After decades of "The War On Drugs", you'd think our leaders would have figured out by now we cannot choke off the supply side of the equation.

The problem is not foreign. The problem is not Venezuelan drug boats.

The problem is domestic. The problem is the demand side.

Instead of wasting hundreds and hundreds of billions more on bombs and bullets, we need to invest in prevention and treatment.

Imagine how many residential treatment centers could have been built with the hundreds and hundreds of billions we have completely wasted on interdiction.

Sadly, the MAGA mindset is so far gone down the totalitarian path, a MAGA propagandist felt comfortable enough to say we should just execute our drug addicts.

Imagine instead of stigmatizing, and contemplating the death penalty for, the afflicted, we helped them kick their curse and put the drug lords out of business that way.

Imagine what would happen to the crime rate if we helped addicts get clean. Imagine how clean our streets would be.

Not everything is a fricking nail. They are God's children.

.
/---/ The cartels thank you for your support.

Residential treatment, that's hilarious.

Have you been living in a cave? You seriously are unaware of the ground offensives against drug cartels by the US in Latin America and other countries around the world for DECADES!?!?

You have GOT to be kidding!
I don’t remember a single coordinated campaign landing divisions of US troops on foreign property any systematically wiping out the cartels and the governments that support them.

I do remember a number of publicity stunts over the years with no real value.

I guess you didn't read the OP.

The War On Drugs is a failure.

You know what the definition of insanity is, right? Doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.
we aren't doing the same thing any more dumbass. or have we ever directly attacked the suppliers before?

Remember when Barry Hussein droned 4 Americans without trial?

Good times............

Four U.S. citizens killed in Obama drone strikes, but 3 were not intended targets

As LaRouche Democrat and U.S. Senate candidate Kesha Rogers of Texas calls for the impeachment of Democratic President Barack Obama, she lists among her reasons the "assassination" of U.S. citizens.

Rogers says on her campaign website that Obama violated the Fifth Amendment "with the avowed assassination of at least four American citizens, Anwar Al-Awlaki, his 16-year-old son, Samir Khan, and Jude Mohammed, without benefit of due process of law. Indeed, the death warrants against these individuals were effectively signed in secret, in a committee which is overseen directly by the president."

The war on drugs has been a failure up to now. The "war" has been one of accommodation. Halfway houses, rehab, community service, diversion programs, safe sites, clean needle programs, mandatory narcan possession for city employees have all been used to, laughably, be called the war on drugs.

Now the time to address the war as a real war with real bombs, bullets and dead bodies is here.

When I read about these boats being bombed, I think to myself "how many lives were saved
in the US without those drugs hitting our shores?"

I'm not sure why the extreme left on this board would rather protect the gangbangers/cartels
that's bringing in the poison to distribute into our society, than protecting our society.
I just can't comprehend that, other than it hasn't hit close to home for them yet.
It's hit close to home for me when a 4 year old 3rd cousin in Bellingham Wa. died of a
fentanyl overdose that she found on 'daddy's' table. Look it up, Michael Doan, Bellingham Wa.
He's doing hard time now, and his daughter is dead.

Dimwingers hate America.

It’s pretty obvious.

We have captured drug lords on their home turf and brought them back here and thrown them in prison.

Doesn't make a difference. For every head you chop off, ten more grow back.

The War On Drug Lords has been a colossal waste of time, energy, and money.

.
Wipe them out, wipe out their replacements and their replacements and theirs, no matter how many layers you have to peel off. Treatment should be a reward. Now, forced or sentenced treatment is something to be tolerated, gotten through, and back to using as soon as possible. You want to stop drug addiction, get them high and slam them with narcan, over and over and over, until the thought of using brings pain.

You're right about much there, but in reality the lesson we learned from the Volstead Act, the 18th Amendment and its repeal 14 years later is that prohibition does not work. Not only that, but it causes all sorts of social pathologies, one of the most significant being the corruption of the police profession and the legal system in general.

The drug cartels exist ONLY because of the drug prohibition laws. Like the Volstead Act, they should be repealed.

There is no lawful authority in the founding document for the government to tell the citizens what they may or may not ingest.

The CIA loves it however. They've been in the dope business for many long decades. I personally witnessed it in Vietnam all those years ago. The Bureau of Prisons also likes it, as it has caused the US to have the highest per capita rate of imprisonment in the world, going back to the 60s or 70s.

Zoooommmm!

The point sailed a mile above your head.

Try reading my post beyond the first 125 characters. I know it's a challenge, but do try.

Explain your statement and how it applied to your post. :dunno:
