The arguing back and forth over the legality of bombing a boat allegedly carrying drugs is entirely missing the actual issue.

The War On Drugs has been a colossal failure because American politicians do not understand how capitalism works.

Drug lords are the epitome of capitalists. Hell, they probably use Trump crypto to launder their money.

It's all about supply and demand.

After decades of "The War On Drugs", you'd think our leaders would have figured out by now we cannot choke off the supply side of the equation.

The problem is not foreign. The problem is not Venezuelan drug boats.

The problem is domestic. The problem is the demand side.

Instead of wasting hundreds and hundreds of billions more on bombs and bullets, we need to invest in prevention and treatment.

Imagine how many residential treatment centers could have been built with the hundreds and hundreds of billions we have completely wasted on interdiction.

Sadly, the MAGA mindset is so far gone down the totalitarian path, a MAGA propagandist felt comfortable enough to say we should just execute our drug addicts.

Imagine instead of stigmatizing, and contemplating the death penalty for, the afflicted, we helped them kick their curse and put the drug lords out of business that way.

Imagine what would happen to the crime rate if we helped addicts get clean. Imagine how clean our streets would be.

Not everything is a fricking nail. They are God's children.

1. The War On Drugs has failed. We have wasted hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars for nothing.

2. America is still consuming mass quantities of drugs. The demand is HUGE.

3. Drug lords are capitalists. They provide the supply and nothing we do has, or ever will, stop them.

4. We solve the problem by treating the disease, not the symptoms. The drug lords are the symptoms. Addiction is the disease. Literally.


I suspect some folks will still not get what I am saying.

Welll in that case let's make addiction treatment more affordable and easier to get! Maybe we agree on something. Unfortunately neither side will vote for that. So many hoops to jump through and so expensive for treatment. Maybe some of the 1.5 trillion the dems want for illegals would help Americans.

Let me first say that I agree with part of your analysis. The drug lords will just shift to another means of distrubution. And we need to address the consumption side of the equation more than the supply side.

On the larger question though... I’m Not sure I’m with you on this one.

Trump is a sick ****. That is universally accepted even by those who support the creep 1000% of the way 24/7.

But even I don’t think that they are blowing someone out of the wager who is out just boating for sport. Would it shock me if that was the case...? I wouldn’t put it in the category of unbelieveable but I’d be pretty surprised.

But if these are documented drug boats I’m not too concerned about their welfare. I’ll use the same arguement I use about our gun control problem. Whatever we’ve tried in either category--drugs or guns; nothing has substantially worked. Its time to try something different.

The big difference being, of course, is that Europe has set an example on how to deal with guns. I’m not so sure they have done as well with drugs.

LOL...you’re right. The legality is sort of like discussing if someone used a proper dot on top of the letter “i”. It couldn’t mean less in the grand scheme of things from our point of view. Drugs will continute to be grown there and sold here.

As i said many times about the Democratic Party and the way they play nice 24/7...”every now and then you have to pitch inside”. They refused to do it when Adolf Sitler (Greg Abbott) was sending busloads of people up to NY. The state of NY should have arrested the driver and impounded the bus and held both of them for 72 hours. You do that a few times, you get fewer volunteers. Eventually you may run out of people. At hte very least, you harras the scum who is sending humans (or drugs) up north.
