Germany and Israel signed a commitment for an arms deal: Israeli Arrow 3 air defense systems worth almost Ö4bn.
The Arrow 3 is a multi-capable system that is even designed to intercept spaceborn weapons. It is Israel´s largest arms deal for export so far. The purchase is made by Germany in the framework of the European Sky Shield program. It is not revealed how many missile batteries the deal includes and critics doubt the system can handle Russian cruise missiles. However, Israeli Defense Minister Gallant said the deal is a "moving event for every Jew".
