They should note that the administration is in violation of federal law and order that any new building erected on federal property in DC above grade requires Congressional approval. That above grade construction is blocked pending Congress.

Not one President has asked for a ballroom, or a "command centre" before Trump. This is Trump building a King's Palace with his name on it.

Trump has dozens of buildings around the world with his name on them. Even when he sells the building, he makes a deal that keeps his name on the building. There are multiple accounts of residents drinking champagne and cheering as that name is taken down.

No one who has ever done business with Trump, willingly repeats that mistake.

And yes, there would be time to get out of Washington. It would take 20 to 30 minutes for a nuke to travel from China and 30 minutes from Russia. Plenty of time to get outta town.

If Congress doesn’t approve above grade construction of the building on federal property the administration can finish below grade construction. The don’t have to fill it with concrete. Once below grade is done, install stairs going down, cover the rest with dirt and seed a lawn.
