Zone1 A little common sense and less blood thirst.....maybe? The Ball Room

This weekend's Correspondence Dinner was not a Whitehouse event....it was a private event that Trump chose to go to only once out of the 6 years he was in office....

And as I pointed out to you, the Trump Ball Room will only seat 999 people and the Correspondence Dinner has around 2500 people attend each year.

The talking points memo given to Trumpers about the correspondence attack and why we need a ballroom falls flat.....
Well said.

The thing is, we can't keep the President in a bunker for 8 years.

The first Assassination attempt was at a Public Rally
The second one was at a golf course Trump owned.
The third was at a public event Trump normally doesn't attend.

.

No way to secure a location????? How about try to secure a location. This was a low effort attempt that security at a high school football game could have stopped.

Its like a construction site where 9 guys watch 1 guy work, except the one guy working is shooting at his own coworkers.

Maybe some heads will roll?

It doesn't completely flat though your mention of numbers is certainly relevant. There is still merit in a secure facility regardless of the mitigating details....This is basic logistical science based of familiarity and repetition. A Known structure penetrated with high tech security systems is ALWAYS going to trump a rented space no matter.....

It is also worth noting that the event was a private event.....Like a ball game for instance....that POTUS chose to attend.
Yeah....it that case it is impossible to predict what will happen.

No it doesn't. It has to do with Trump wanting a monument to himself. He wants "The Trump Presidential Ballroom" forever tied to his name.

Which is why he didn't take it through Congress to get approval to build the building which is required by Federal law.

No, we checked. It's about safety and not making foreign dignitaries meet in a tent and pee in porta-potties.

What is Trump afraid is going to happen to the President in the White House that requires a nuclear bomb resistant bunker and underground "command facility" for the White House?

Easy, because that is the level of protection afforded other world leaders like Putin and others.

You sound like someone frustrated that if Trump gets his ballroom built, chances of democrats assassinating him in an open, public venue drops by 66-78%.

If it was about safety he'd have gone to Congress as the law requires.

The courts don't seem to agree with you, and I'll take their opinion over that of a random internet keyboard jockey any day.

The District Court stayed above grade construction.

The Appeals court has yet to rule on othe merits of the issue, the only thing they did was allow current actions to continue pending continueing legal action.

Current work is allowed to continue to June and has scheduled oral arguments for June 5th. Since all the work right now is below grade they felt there was no rush.

So ya, the only court to rule on the merits has agreed with me and not Trump. We have to wait and see what the Appeals court is going to do.

What do you want them to do? Does your TDS allow you to say with any honesty?

What facilities? We don't have a permanent structure for these kinds of events, and given the current state of violence on the far left, we need something we can better secure.

Sure, give the taxpayers a massive bill for demolishing something that works very well just so you can have your little temper tantrum.
We had a tent and porta potties.

FYI

We Do have an East Room Ballroom that is in the Whitehouse residence and can seat 290 guests for dinner and 500 for other seating events. And also another huge State Dining Room

On average, depending on presidents socializing preference, there are 2-3 white house dinners a year where a Pavilion outside is needed. All other official dinners fit inside and are held inside the East Room or State Room.

We are $39 trillion in debt, citizens can't afford food and gas and rents, and their healthcare benefits or rural health clinics have been cut or removed... For 3 events a year where there are more guests that the inside rooms can hold, you really think Trump's priority should have been spending his time and $400 million on a ballroom that large for 3 events a year, (or spend a billion on retrofitting his Qatar palace in the sky airplane gift, or the $1.5 billion a day on his ill planned war of choice in Iran, or on his birthday parades, or on his Arch he's building for himself, or the money for his putting himself on our passports and coins....)

YES, Republicans have introduced a bill for us tax payer's to foot the$400 million, and not pay for it with donations as Trump claimed initially.

Better to pay for vanity projects for Trump than to eat.

I’m always honest.

They should note that the administration is in violation of federal law and order that any new building erected on federal property in DC above grade requires Congressional approval. That above grade construction is blocked pending Congress.

40 USC 8106

A building or structure shall not be erected on any reservation, park, or public grounds of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia without express authority of Congress.

And, oh yeah, the Real Housewives lady was able to get into the White House and, I believe, met the Obama's. Just having it at the White House is no guarantee of security.
Ooof..,. That's a bit embarrassing.
