Zone1 A little common sense and less blood thirst.....maybe? The Ball Room

It does have to do with safety in general though.

No it doesn't. It has to do with Trump wanting a monument to himself. He wants "The Trump Presidential Ballroom" forever tied to his name.

Which is why he didn't take it through Congress to get approval to build the building which is required by Federal law.

Well I have no doubt that there's some self agrandizement there but I'm not allowing that
To get on the way of common sense.
This is common sense.

Then take it through Congress as the law requires.

It doesn't matter if you can't stand the guy.....that's your right. But he's right about this thing.....so you don't like lavish? OK...that's reasonable but let's look at this for a minute from the logistics angle.

There's no way you can secure a rented space the way you can secure a dedicated structure built for that purpose. It's just not possible. Take a Hotel conference room for instance....there's always someone who knows the ins and outs, the back doors, the hidden comparmtnets, the structural flaws, better than the people coming in to rent the place. It would literally take a month of studying the structure and the surroundings includning the below gound access to be sure that they had it all conrrect and even then it's not going to be maximized for security.

Now then, let's take a building that is built from the ground up specifically to protect the President and whoever else may be a target for Political reasons....After Trump there will be others who will benefit from this building. With the blueprints available to the Secret Service....with built in surveillance....with built in station posts for armed agents....with all the modern gadgets that affiliate with high security including a tediously mamaged entry and exit system....there's no way you can hope to match it with a rented space.

Dudes.....this just makes sense....it makes HUGE sense and it is very hard to deny it.

And there are WAYS OF DOING THINGS.

You don't just knock down an iconic building. You get permission, you have plans.

Not just "knock it down, I have people I screwed out of money paying for it", then create an "assassination attempt" and all of a sudden it's "well, the stupid people can pay for it, can't they?"

He's such a FUCKNG DICKHEAD.

Um, no.

The President is always going to be out and about. I mean, we COULD put him in a bunker for the whole four to eight years he's in, but that would be a terrible idea.

Of the three attempts on Trump, one happened at a political rally and the other happened on his private golf course. How would a ballroom have prevented those?

Worth noting....
He almost got plugged on a golf course.

Our political climate has become more violent
This weekend's Correspondence Dinner was not a Whitehouse event....it was a private event that Trump chose to go to only once out of the 6 years he was in office....

And as I pointed out to you, the Trump Ball Room will only seat 999 people and the Correspondence Dinner has around 2500 people attend each year.

The talking points memo given to Trumpers about the correspondence attack and why we need a ballroom falls flat.....

No way to secure a location????? How about try to secure a location. This was a low effort attempt that security at a high school football game could have stopped.

Its like a construction site where 9 guys watch 1 guy work, except the one guy working is shooting at his own coworkers.

We've had state dinners at the White House since (at least) the 1960's.
.

It's not the ballroom issue that makes your cult asses itch. It the fact that President Trump and his staff will be more protected.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...................... Too bad.
