The Democrats picked up at least 35 seats and the House majority. It will be very hard for the GOP to get it back. The reason we saw a small wave was gerrymandering. Democrats picked up a seat at the table in Michigan and NC. The courts could very well undo the NC and Wisconsin gerrymanders as well. The GOP coalition is breaking up as suburban and well educated voters leave the Republicans.

As undecided races are now being decided you guys are near 40 seats now that you lost in the House, the most any Republican president has lost in a midterm since Watergate. Considering all the retirements and redistricting done the GOP did pretty good. Picking up a few senate seats plus no more McCain, Flake, and Corker is a big win for Trump. Doug Jones is gone in 2020 so another senate pickup. All house seats are up in 2020 so more good news for the GOP
