He had a Level III A Soft Armor White Vest on under his Shirt , Family & LEOs already said that early on after shooting . The Vest is what deflected the round that killed him

I honestly don't know if Kirk was wearing body armor or not but I have repeatedly read that he was killed by a 30. - '06 round with the claim that the bullet didn't penetrate Kirk's neck which I find highly unlikely unless there were other obstacles.

He had a White Level III A Kevlar Vest ( no plates ) and the round hit it & deflected up .

Soft armor does not deflect.

If you watch the Video of the Nutjob BLM supporter veteran shooting those cops in Dallas you will see him Bunkering one Cop close up and when he rounded the Corner of the pillar and took the Cop down and mag dumped him at 6 feet Distance you will see sparks on the Sidewalk from several Rounds that deflected from the Cops soft Kevlar Level III A vest . I watched it over & over and at least two rounds deflected and skipped sparking off the Sidewalk .

I've shot at a lot of junk metal etc with high powered rifles including the .30 - 06 round which whistles straight through 1/4" - 3/8" plate steel.

However, since I honestly don't know the details, I can only remain curious.

Google if Kirk wore vests in last 5 years at his events , Trump wears vests all the time .
