When I first read this, beside feeling very sad that all those bodies were thrown away like that, was the certain knowledge that Catholic haters would come out of the woodwork to blase ALL Catholics for this.

This should not be tolerated in the faith of any religion.

But, let's be honest - how many female new-borns are allowed to die because they are simply unwanted in many 3rd world societies?
